Didnt' Katsidis get handled by Diaz already? yet some are you are picking him to KO or UD JMM? :Giggle:

Seriously, I get that emotional push for Katsidis after his brother passed. But he is still a one dimensional brawler. No way Jmm loses to him.

    JMM ko 11th

Frock and Abraham are both very overrated to me. I think Dirrell outboxed both of them. I dont' care how "ugly" or "pretty" it looked.

Both guys can punch so it will be a good scrap. It's almost a toss up but I pick Frock being the naturally bigger guy. It's hard for me to pick Frock simply because all the shit he talks. He is not as good as he thinks he is, not even close.

I dreamt QPR won the Premiership, FA cup, Champions League treble, with a 7-0 win over Chelsea in the final. Guess what? That never happened either.

Both are extremely tough fights to pick & very interesting style match ups.

My instinct is to go with Katsidis by SD. I expect Marquez to dominate early - Katsidis is very hittable with jabs - but Im impressed by Katsidis' punch picking & variety in getting inside. I think there's something going on inside that skull of his, he's patient and he's thinking, observing patterns, working out how to make that distance shrink consistently. I think over 12 he's really gonna impose his strength and youth on Marquez.

& Abrahams by stoppage. This one is just gonna be violent. Slow paced for the most part, lots of feints, no consistent action, but interspersed with exchanges where both guys go all out with abandon. Both guys attack wildly when they think a guy is hurt and leave openings when there's blood in the water. Both guys will be hurt at some point in this one....I'll go with Abrahams physical strength and more reliable defence against Froch's greater activity and range.

Diaz fights about as differently from Marquez as can be, it isn't even a relevant fight. I thought Katsidis should have got the decision in that but it doesn't really matter - that was a fight in a phone booth. This fight depends on whether Katsidis will be able to open the door and get into the phone booth from time to time.

It's almost like MMA - Katsidis/Diaz was a fight on the ground throughout - a pure BJJ match. Diaz was arguably slightly better at BJJ. But Katsidis-Marquez depends on Kats wrestling ability against a striker. His ability to switch the nature of the fight from range to close. The geography will likely decide it. Comes down to a different skill set in a different fight.

A much more relevant comparison fight is Casamoyer. I personally think Casamoyer is as good a pure outfighter as Marquez, yet Katsidis forced his way inside consistently, hurt him several times and that was a war. IMO, if you replay that fight 10 times, Katsidis would win 7. I think Marquez will have a hard night.

But I agree, there's a good chance Marquez proves too good. It's close to a pick 'em - very good chance of Marquez getting a stoppage with that accurate straight right hand.:fightme:

If Katsidis was as smart as you think, he would have never lost to Casamayor. That was one of the dumbest losses of the last 10 years. Casamayor was on dead legs from all the brutal bodyshots Katsidis landed, went down and it just seemed a matter of time around the 5th or 6th round. Then Katsidis just stopped throwing them, completely changed tactics (again), went head-hunting, and eventually got countered and stopped. It was very stupid, because those headhunting tactics had failed him very early in the fight.

Marquez is at a similar stage now to Casamayor back then, so I wouldn´t rule out that Katsidis wins, but I expect Marquez to slowly take him apart, maybe bust him up so bad that the fight is stopped mid rounds.

Neil, Frock is not skilled but Arabham is? Arabham is not skilled in the slightest. He just plods around with his gloves glued to his face, throwing the occasional power punch.

Oh and ElTerrible, I agree, Katsidis is an idiot. There's nothing going in on his head. If there is something going on, it's incorrect.

Not only the Casamayor fight, but against Diaz his whole gameplan was to box, which failed, and he didn't adapt whatsoever. Meanwhile his corner gave him such wise gems as "They've never seen such loveliness".

Doesn't look nervous to me, more looks like he's trying to intimidate Arabham a bit.

If he's trying to intimidate Abe, it should tell you something.

I know its not usually smart to look very much into staredowns... but Abe truly looks intense, like he wants to BADLY hurt Froch. Carl looks a bit jittery. I dont think it was smart for Frochy to piss off a guy like Abe. If Abe actually lets his hands go early... I honestly think he could put Froch on ice within 6.

I think if anything came out of that staredown it was Froch seeing what Abraham's gameplan is going to be for the first half of the fight.

I'm not saying he definitely will. But even if he fights at his normal pace, he'll start to heat up by the mid rounds and he'll gradually break Froch.

All I'm saying is that he definitely seems more intense before this fight than he was for Dirrell.

Froch will batter Abraham like a mars bar in a Scottish chip shop. Easy win.
