I agree with the both of you. Definitely a heart over head pick because I'd like to see Froch-Ward and Abraham-Johnson in the semis.

Hatton is thought of as a fat, coke head joke nowadays. But make NO MISTAKE.... in his prime he was a considerably better fighter than this farmer.

Froch lost to an old, half blind Kessler. Hatton beating old man Tszyu was alot more impressive.

I dont even think its much of a debate.

In reality Froch has lost TWO fights in a row, and it'll be 3 in a row in a few hrs.

 

Two points:

Firstly, you are debating with the one poster who hates Hatton more than any other poster I have ever seen, so you are wasting your time.

Secondly, if you think Dirrell beat Froch you should just stop watching boxing. That disgusting, non-performance from Dirrell got exactly what it deserved. Absolutely fuck all...

Hatton wasn't competitive with Floyd.

Alfonso Gomez whupped the same shot old Castillo, Froch KO's that calibre of fighter easily.

Kessler is a better fighter than Luis Collazo for example so they both lost close decisions to somebody of the same calibre.

Froch beat Jean Pascal a young dangerous fighter, thats not far off beating Tszyu especially when zoo was inactive.

One thing is for sure that Froch has a nutsack 50x bigger. Pascal, Taylor, Dirrell, Kessler and Abraham back to back.

Not for me you can't. You do not win rounds by running away, throwing yourself to the floor in an attempt to prevent any actual fighting breaking out and throwing a handful of half-decent counters over twelve rounds.

There is NOTHING per se wrong with fighting off the back foot. That is a tried and tested style which many great fighters perfected into an art form. What Dirrell did that night was nothing of that sort. He simply ran and ran and ran and did absolutely everything he possibly could to avoid doing any fighting.

When you do that, you lose IMHO. Silly ten-point must system or not.

The Way Dirrell Fought was Most Certainly an EYESORE, but the Manner In Which a Combatant Elects to Fight Should have NO BEARING WHATSOEVER on How that Boxing Match is SCORED...As FANS, we Can Use Style FOR or AGAINST a Fighter, but a Licensed Boxing Judge SHOULD NOT...

REED Heard the Complaints about Dirrell-Froch PRIOR to Actually WATCHING the Fight Itself...Dirrell Engaged ALOT More than he Gets Credit For in that Bout...Yes, he was At Times TIMID & was Clearly Focused on NOT Getting Hit, but he Landed the CLEANER, More EFFECTIVE Shots as Well...

Dirrell scored pretty much every time he threw. His problem, and the problem for everyone watching, is that he threw so little.

The great irony of that fight is that when he engaged Dirrell hurt Froch quite badly in spots. But having a few good moments do not a winning performance make IMHO.

While REED AGREES w/your Sentiments, the Problem is, Nobody EVER Talks about what Froch did to WIN that Fight...It's Always a Matter of Dirrell Being PENALIZED & PUNISHED, as Opposed to What Froch Did....
