That's what's especially egregious to me. Boxing has had side shows in the past, so it's not some new trend. Butterbean for example. Big difference between some weird "attraction" on the undercard and some no talents headlining cards.
The ridiculous thing with these people is that they spent the better part of last year denying covid death, clinging to whatever theory that might lower the threat of Covid in the public eye. Still, they won't apply this skepticism to vaccine related problems or death. Here every little problem will be presented as the ultimate proof of whatever they want to believe. That sickens me. With that said, yeah that stuff has to be investigated. I guess I'll be part of the lab rats as I'm getting vaccinated next wednesday.
Thats funny you thought Duran would be the first to go? Without sounding racist I thought the exact opposite. Those third world people that basically grew up in the gutter are resilient and tough as nails. No way Duran dies from a little vaccine .
Since Hagler grew up in Newark and Greater Boston, the NJ Devils and Boston Bruins/Celtics should build a statue of Marvin Hagler outside their arenas
RIP Champ. As for the vaccine, I'll take the odds of 0.0001% chance of a fucked up reaction to the jab as opposed to a 0.1% chance of a fucked up reaction to Covid.
Hagler's wife just said on social media that the Covid vax had nothing to do with it. I dunno where Tommy Hearns found that bullshit to post.
Even if he somehow found out that Hagler was recently vaccinated it was extremely stupid and careless to post such a thing.
Damage's done. I've already seen that widely shared on twitter. With these dolts, no matter what people say, once they've deemed a story useful for their agenda, it never goes away.
Yep. It's now "more evidence". It wouldn't matter if it turned out he was actually murdered with a shotgun. It would then be called a "cover story".
The weird thing is that tommy wrote this prior to hagler death. Wonder from whom he heard it. But in a certain way, im not sure i lend much credence to what Hearns says when it comes to Hagler. I don't think he was close enough to him to get private info But i must say i don't understand why Hagler family hides the cause of his death
I would think it would be preferable for them to know it by the media than to hear all these contradictory stories
This is the way I see it too. Imo the family can tell publicly whatever they feel like, and if they want to handle it as a personal matter, so be it. Marvin wasn't a guy who enjoyed being in the limelight when he was alive, maybe they want to let him go the same way. Cutting rumors is impossible these days anyway
It's not true that Hagler didn't want to be in the limelight. He changed his name to Marvelous and tried to became a movie star. He was disgusted with boxing, that's why he cut link with the sport
Maybe he was aware of Hagler having recently gotten the shot (did Hagler have a social media account where he would casually mention such things?), and simply made an (incorrect?) assumption.
Ray Leonard on social media: Marvin and I had the utmost respect for eachother. Marvin from the grave: Type me like a man you lil bitch!
Thankfully most anti-vaxxers are total racists and won't listen to Tommy, especially after he beat up Roberto Earl Ray.
Yeah I didn't have him down as one of those "He's Next" types. I always thought it would be Vitali being assasinated by Poo Tin or something like that. Maybe Duran or Tommy rather than Marvin. Funny that. It's like Foreman outliving Ali, Frazier and Norton. Or Mike...really thought Mike would have gone by now thanks to depression or the likes.
I heard Ray ran with his phone for two minute, type a few words, ran with his phone for two minutes, typed a few words, ran with his phone for two minutes...... All the time Marvin was looking at his WhatsApp........"Ray is typing".............and Hagler was............Waiting, Waiting, Waiting.
Hagler is one of the few boxers I ever watched that I could say "I want THAT skill"..........in Haglers case, it was that southpaw lead. I never looked at Ali and said "I want to be that fast", or at "Foreman" and said......."I want to be that powerful". I always liked Quarry for composure and short counters, Louis for accuracy, Hagler for that right arm and Byrd for defense. Funny I used to cycle every day through the hometown of a guy who fought him twice:- Kevin Finnegan. English guy I know who knew both Finnegans always says to me when I visit his house.........."Dem lads wot fought 'Agler, dey nevva shudda done that cos dey wound up wiff noses like sausages".
I was in the barbershop today. Not even there for 10 mins when some cat says, "You heard the vaccine killed Marvelous Marvin?"
