I'm a big big Hilton fan. But unfortunately, I think Canelo wins a close one. Unless Hilton manage to bomb him away early
I hate to say it, but Canelo beats Hilton. Hilton was a bigger hitter than Canelo, but that's outdone by the fact that Alvarez is technically more sound, and his defense is a lot more solid. Hilton was a helluva lot better than guys like Angulo, Kirkland, and Smith though, so it wouldn't be a one sided thrashing. But I do see Canelo pulling away down the stretch with cleaner punching. Probably goes to decision, with a chance Canelo scores a late TKO if Hilton's eye swells, and with Canelo's accurate counters that is possible.
So, Im going on the assumption that Canelo has never fought a big-bomber like one of the Fighting Hiltons....these guys would fight anyone, anywhere. Canelo fights when his promoter feels its right....
Matt Hilton would be the biggest hitter Canelo has faced, yes. Hilton had frightening power in his hook. Just a pitty that he wasn't all that accurate with it. Benitez was shot to pieces when he fought Hilton, but still, the left hook he finished Benitez off with was brutal. Hilton was very easy to hit though and very one dimensional. And to be fair, he never fought anybody as offensively talented as Alvarez.
