I think Garcia can outbox Matthysse but he would need to be careful or he could get taken out at anytime. Rios for me just gets hit too much though if he could weather the early rounds storm, he possibly could take Lucas into deep waters and take him out but my money would be on Matthysse.
I don't think Garcia is a good fighter at all, really. Judah might beat him. He beat an old man and a chinless boxbot.
Judah might hurt/wobble him early...but he won't win. And AGREE...I don't see it. Some people talk about his punching power? But he has 16 Ko's in 25 fight is that really special? Other say outbox such and such opponent...but I haven't seen him outbox anyone worth a damn....he wasn't outboxing Khan before he blasted him...
Makes sense for matthysse to step in and fight Judah if Garcia can't go. Unless he's unable to cut that thirty pounds in two weeks
Agreed on Garcia. I think he has enough to beat Judah, but he's nowhere near as good as people suddenly think he is. Both Lucas and Rios would beat the shit out of him.
Garcia withdraws from Judah fight. Apparentley suffered some sort of rib injury in sparring or something.
True, the kid is engaging, but he is as sharp as a marble (Rios). I agree with you on Matthyse getting to him & finishing him somewhat early, somewhere around the middle rounds. Matthyse's shots are just a bit too jolting for his balls-out approach. Brandon Rios is a very tough kid with some marginal skill, but he needs to be matched carefully by his handlers moving forward.
Matthyse is very cool, I like him. But he's WAYYY overrated right now. He'll lose more often than he'll win if he starts fighting top guys on a consistent basis.
yup... there's nothing to suggest Garcia is anything other than just a guy who was in the right place at the right time against an incredibly flawed, heavily hyped opponent
agree... he's a terrific puncher and has an aggressive style that will make for good fights. He's dangerous, but he's technically nothing to write home about, he's not hard to find and he's not particularly quick. He's a good, world-class brawler
I hope Garcia pays some sort of price for pulling out of the Judah fight. It's obvious B.S. A rib injury must be the easiest to fake because isn't it always a rib injury in cases like these? Apparently, Garcia has no intentions of facing Matthysse but knew that if he fought two weeks after Matthysse did, the pressure to do so would be overwhelming.
Matthyse lost to Judah guys, let's not go overboard with the hype. Even if you think Judah got a gift in that fight it was still a close fight. So either Judah isn't as shitty as everyone seems to think or Matthyse isn't THAT good.
So what that he had a close fight with Judah ( that I though he won quite clearly ). He was inexperienced then and seems to have improved a lot since then. Plus, Judah is a pretty good fighter
I agree that Judah is a good fighter still, just saying for the people who seem to hype Matthyse and act like Judah is some bum.
Matthyse would destroy Maidana. Look no further than their respective fights against Alexander and Corley to see the difference in quality between the two. I don't even think Maidana beats Rios.
No he wouldn't, Rios would beat him down. ryos to manny powrs to manny steminars to much chins mayydarna to wyld to clubing to frayl
LOL. Like it would have made a difference. Matthyse could move up to 147 and kick Alexandra's ass again.
Ehh, I doubt it. I wouldn't count Maidana out, because he hits a lot harder than Alvarado, but I just don't trust Chino's chin under Rios' power. Maidana-Rios is up for debate though. Mathysse would KO both of them.
Think Braddles would beat him actually, even though he looked scrubbier and more tepid than I expected in the Pacquiao robbery. But I think he's tough and savvy enough to outpoint Matthysse, what about you?
