    Bullshit!

The 03 Mayorga would be absolute HELL for Cotto!

COTTO is the one who does well vs boxers. But an aggressive, strong, heavy handed, durable, fairly athletic guy like the 03 Mayorga? Miggy would struggle, and might get stopped.

Consider that prime Mayorga is Ricardo Torres 10x.

And yeah yeah I know what you'll say "Cotto was drained at 140... blah, blah". I dont buy it as the ONLY reason he struggled.

Cotto at no point in his career had Oscar's handspeed, firepower, and most importantly.... CHIN!

I recall Mayorga landing a HUGE right uppercut that slightly buckled Oscar's legs, but thats it.

That same punch woulda put Cotto on queer street.

Get the fuck outta here with that shit. Mayorga is one of the most overrated boxers ever with one of the most overrated punches ever.

If ever a guy made a career out of 2 fluke back to back KO's it was Mayorga. He kayoed a chinny 6 heads and caught Forrest on the temple. Remember he failed to even shake Forrest in the rematch and has never shown any real power since. So it was a fluke. Cotto would mop the floor with that bum at any point of their careers. You take Mayorga at his best and Cotto at his worst and I'd still take Cotto.

Mayorga knocked out Forrest with a temple shot as you say and Cotto was hurt very badly by Corley who wasn't a huge puncher and didn't know how to finish. Mayorga would brutalize Cotto.

Prime vs Prime, this would have been a good fight. The Cotto version hat beat Mosley vs the Mayorga version that beat Forrest. I think the fight could have gone either way. Cotto has the talent but like mentioned Ricardo would have been a nightmare for him, including late in the fight.

So because Cotto got hurt by a boxer at some point in his career that means Mayorga brutalizes him? Ridiculous. Mayorga's power is overrated and he doesn't even know how to punch correctly much less box with any real skills. The top fighters will always have beaten Mayorga and really the only top skilled fighter he beat was Forrest and that has looked more flukeish as the years have gone by, especially when you factor in their rematch.

Floyd was hurt too by Corley and Mosley. Does that means that '03 Mayorga would had brutalized Mayweather?:eek:hno: Fail of logic.

Forrest had no technique. He was swining widley and fighting angry. that is why he got caught. Forrest Played Mayorga's game and got caught.

IS THIS BOARD FUCKING CRAZY? MAYORGA? Miguel Cotto would kill this man on his worst day.

What? Mayorga's best wins at his peak were against Vernon Forrest... a boxer.

I thought Forrest Won the rematch. But forrest still at times fell into the trap of trading with Mayorga. Mayorga is a glorified bum.

    MAYORGA LMAO.

Why? You dont think calling him a Glorified bum is debatable? You got Mayorga HOF'er or something?

He is a glorified bum. He got outboxed by Felix Trinidad.

Other than Forrest, who has Mayorga beaten worth a damn?

Which one of Cotto's wins would beat "prime" Mayorga though, that is the question. Or "prime" Forrest, for that matter.

Yeah, you really don't know very much about boxing, do you? Mayorga, in the rematch, was at the very least live vs. Forrest, yes?

Cotto/Mayorga would have been a fun fight. I can see Cotto winning at times, but I can also see Mayorga breaking him down.

Glorified bum and HOF'er aren't the only options...but arguing the point with you isn't much of a way to start the holiday weekend.

All of them. Shit. Mosley, judah, Paulie, all of them.

MAyorga is good for two things. You can fight him when you need a tuneup after being off for a while, or if you are passed your prime and need a fight to add to your streak in order to get that shot again. Other than that, he isnt good for shit. The only Boxer worth a damn he beat was Forrest. And that was Forrest's fault. Fought like a fucking idiot the first fight. I thought he won the second tho.

Yes he was live. But Forrest wasnt as diciplined in that fight either. Had he been more diciplined, it wouldnt have been so live. I still thought Forrest won.
