Ok, I get you. All of those were peak versions of Cotto. So why are you bringing up Trinidad/Mayorga?
Based on what? Who did Forrest beat at welter other than Mosley? But thats another debate. Cotto has better wins at welter than Forrest. That being said. Forrest only lost to Mayorga, because he fought a stupid fight.
To show easily the man can be outboxed. Cotto isnt even shot right now and he would beat the shit out of Mayorga. Imagine in his prime.
Nope, he went in there to be diciplined, but at times he banged. He couldnt help it. He was not diciplined for the full 12 rounds
Isn't Mosley Cotto's best win at welter too? A less impressive win over an older Shane? Forrest's best win is pretty obviously better than anything Cotto has done at welter. Unfortunately, no one would fight Forrest for a lot of years leading up to his first fight with Mosley.
Yeah, I'm not going to tell you where to post, but you have to expect this shit when you talk out of your ass the way you have in this thread. I'm telling you straight, you really don't look like you have any idea what you're talking about. Either that, or your just nuthugging the fighter from PR.
Maybe his best win, but not is only significant one. His opposition at welter was better than Forrest's.
Talking out my ass? Thats fine. Give me a name other than forrest that Mayorga has beaten that is worth a damn.
I don't have to. There was a small window where Mayorga was at the top, and still able to make 147. I'm talking about a very specific time here. Mayo wasn't at the top of his game for long, but when he was, he'd have been hell for Cotto. That's it, that's all.
What was his small window? His small window consisted of a win over Forrest. :: He then went on to get beaten by Spinks.
Mayorga is solid based on his small window consisting of only Vernon Forrest, yet Mosley is a certain win over Cotto despite his string of losses to forrest, horrible fight againt marquez, arguable lost to DLH, and String of losses to Wright? :Giggle: I think its you that is talking out of your ass. No way with any certainty you can say mosley beats Cotto in 2002 with that string of horrible losses/performances
And that's why I can't go back and forth with you. You have no idea what I'm talking about. It's bizarre.
Again, the ONLY fighter Mayorga beat that was worth a damn was forrest. Thats it. He is sloppy, throws looping punches, has a glass body and average stamina. Cotto has no problem getting to Mayorga's body. Other than 1 fight, there is nothing to suggests Mayorga is live against cotto. Again. Cotto's major strength is Mayorga's Major Flaw. Body shots.
Hey im just have a discussion here. Im not saying anything other than opinion. Everyone here has one and everyone here posts. Now if you just want to be a fucking asshole about it thats different. I thought this was a discussion board.
Mayorga punches are too looping and wild to beat COTTO.... Will it be a tough fight for Cotto? Sure it will esp. late in the fight...but Mayorga doesn't land enough to real bust Cotto up like Margarito did. Cotto by UD
I have only stated facts and opinions in this thread. Nothing i have said is innacurate. Mayorga has only one good Victory to his name. And it was againt Forrest who decided to Trade instead of box. And speaking of that, YOU thought the Mayorga vs. Forrest fight was Pre-mature stoppage.
The rematch went just like this: Mayorga won the first 5 or 6 rds because Forrest was still tentative after having just been KO'd by him in their previous fight. Once Forrest got his courage up, he went on to sweep the rest of the fight but perhaps started to late. Mayorga never came close to hurting Forrest in the rematch. This makes the first fight look like a complete fluke. A trilogy back then would have been great to settle the debate, but alas it was not meant to be. Once again, Mayorga is completely overrated because he has one big win and scraped by on the rematch. He completely lacks skills yet people will still sit here and try to argue how good he is even though they can't base it on anything other than one flukeish KO.
