Like I said, I could go back and dig through old articles, but it's taken so long that I'm frankly sick of it. If you want my opinion and others' opinions, go dig through old threads. There's links to articles and whatnot.

i can almost guarantee that if mayweather retired again after the ortiz fight, that pacquiao would be fighting on may 5th at MGM

They're not fighting in the Hammerstein Ballroom on Christmas Day. It's Cinco De Mayo at MGM, there's enough time to construct an outdoor stadium and it's the biggest fight date of the year aside from possibly Sept 17th. WTF wouldn't they want the fight then? Give me a fucking break.

I don't see the problem with May 5th either. I just think PBF should call Pacquiao's bluff. I wish he would.

My aim isn't to defend Pacquiao. I just think the facts don't support the idea that it's all Pacquiao's fault.

I think the same considerations($) that have Pacquiao unwilling to make the fight apply to PBF. And that all the rest is posturing by both sides, with varying degrees of success at fooling the public.

I think what people need to consider is that PBF and Pacquiao have a good thing going. Judging from the numbers they're able to do (not fighting each other), and given their obvious efforts to schedule their fights in tandem, and to ellicit mention of the other at all times, it's perfectly reasonable to assume that there's a synergistic effect that arises from their ongoing saga of not facing each other that results in unprecendented viewership of their bouts, due in large part to the excitement of their evenutally meeting.

TR and GBP both would be fools to cut the chord on this before they needed to, with huge sums at stake if they did.

Again, this applies to both sides. And anyone would be a fool to think otherwise.

This could end up like Jones jr-Hopkins 2. Years after it was supposed to and nobody cared.

I bet they negotiated with the other party before getting the date and venue. I'd bet on it infact.

MANILA, Philippines – There is hope for a Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight after all.

Pacquiao told ABS-CBN's Dyan Castillejo that he and Mayweather spoke through the phone and talked about the super bout.

The fighting congressman said he is willing to face Mayweather "anytime," as long as he will be given an equal split of the fight revenues.

"Sabi ko aprub na sa akin ang 50-50, walang problema anytime. Nasa 'yo na 'yun. Maghihintay kami kung OK na sa iyo (I said just give me a 50-50 split in revenue and there would be no problem, anytime. It's up to you. We’ll wait for your answer)," he said.

If Mayweather agrees, the fight could take place in May.

This was contrary to the claim made by boxing promoter Bob Arum in Sports Illustrated that Pacquiao’s next fight would be in June.

Mayweather earlier demanded through a series of tweets that Pacquiao should face him on May 5.

However, a May 5 fight date between Pacquiao and Mayweather would not be “economically smart” said Arum.

The Top Rank CEO even said the Pacquiao agreed with him regarding the May 5 bout.

“He realizes that economically the May 5th date is not smart,” Arum said.

He agrued that a temporary stadium would be needed to host the super bout. The venue, said Arum, would likely be available in late May.

Arum said that without Mayweather, Pacquiao is likely to fight against one of the four fighters: Juan Manuel Marquez, Timothy Bradley, Miguel Cotto or Lamont Peterson.

The biggest fight in Vegas in the last two decades have always been at the MGM Grand or Mandalay Bay.

Now suddenly it isn't good enough. God I detest Arum.

Manny and Floyd spoke on the phone?? That would have been surreal to listen to. I don't think they've even been in the same room since Pacquiao-Morales II

Can anyone confirm whether or not PBF still relies on xylocaine before fights? Brittle-handed muther-fckr. He needs to stop with the caine and wear some fucking Reyes like a man.

Please list what these performances were and I'll see if:

    a. I can possibly agree with you
    b. Whether or not there were other factors at play

Otherwise, yeah. I will go figure.

    ndou, gatti, corley, chavez, augustus.

you fellows seem to think the reason mayweather jr only fights in las vegas now is because of some hand numbing agent when in fact the reasons are more financial. since he beat delahoya and became a huge draw he strictly fights in las vegas.

So now it's Mayweather holding it up asking for more than 50%. 50-50 seems damn fair to me, they need to make it happen. There is no reason Mayweather should get more than half.
