You have never thought that them being friendly had anything to o with your skin color and hairstyle?
I'm not saying Hatton is racist "However" To live in Manchester in the environment he grew up in, I highly doubt he nor many he's associated with has had much to do with people of color. Doesn't mean he's racist, but when the cameras are gone and no mics are around, I wouldn't be surprised if the "N-word" wasn't tossed around in Hatton's gym like a family reunion in Harlem. Just my feelings... Ask Sly what he thinks. He knows places like Manchester well.
I didn't count but im pretty sure that the Floyd camp didn't even say Hattons name in last nights episode.
:: Sly is from Essex, has he ever been to Manchester? Have you? Its a city of more than two million, even the phrase like "a place like manchester" is meaningless. You're making an assumption based on nothing more than a gut feeling, you don't have to rationalise it, or make it out to be anything other than prejudice...
yes, I'm sure the bald look was mistaken for a card-carrying skinhead or TMR membership, and thus, he felt right at home. ::
Since when is it a bad thing when a person "hasn't associated with or has had much to do with people of color"? If anything, having as little to do with people of color as possible probably makes one a better person, all things considered. Think about it.... If you take an average guy who grew up among "people of color", he's statistically much more likely to be a felon, for example, than an average guy who grew up not among "people of color"
I don't know where Sly lived when he was in England, but I'm 99.9% certain it wasn't Manchester, nor is Manchester the type of city you can sum up in a single sentence. The equivalent would be stereotyping the perceived average Brooklynite. I don't know what Hatton's friends are like, or what goes on when the camera's not rolling. But I seriously doubt he'd be any less comfortable in a room full of Roy Jones' than Roy would in a room full of Ricky Hatton's. Perhaps it's not a stretch to say Ricky doesn't particularly fancy "people like Floyd" - but for that matter, neither do you.
the only time I recall him saying it was in the quote toomuchsol earlier referenced ("(Hatton)ain't been in the ring with 43 Floyd Mayweathers, or he'd be 0-43.") But point taken (though of course, the show is edited)
All I'm saying is, it doesn't matter what the size of the city is...let's take Boston for instance. Boston is the most racist city in America...which says alot. Is that stereotyping the city? "However"...it just happens to be true. "Like I said before" I don't buy into Mayweather getting under Hatton's skin simply because he's disgusted with Floyd's antics. But I do believe there are underlying racial issues when you look not only at the fighters, but all of the people surrounding both fighters. I'd argue that Floyd has a more diverse crowd seeing that his cutman is Mexican and Neil is one of his top five groupies. ::
It may not change your mind, but one of Billy Graham's first big training gigs was Carl Thompson who was based at the Phoenix gym, and the former has often pointed out that his favorites were foster and hearns and above all, Ali....
:nono: Those are his bosses and soon to be business partners...not the chaps he drinks Guiness with (though Manny Steward has said several times Ricky's one of his favorite drinking buddies). Am I the only one who thinks 24/7 is simply a cover for the launching of "Golden Boy Manchester?"
George Washington owned slaves, knocked up at least one of them yet didn't abolish slavery and signed the Declaration of Independence which states that "all men are created equal." There are hypocrites everywhere as Sly's posts on this board proves. :tease:
yeah and i bet the mayweather clan refers to snow-white caspars like Ricky ONLY in completely political correct manner...
Dymi, Dymi, Dymi......take a break from the board and think on all the previous warnings and bannings you've had.

I can picture Billy Graham talking like Terry Conklin's trainer in The Great White Hype. There were some blacks though in Manchester watching Ricky's workout.
I've never been to Manchester, admittedly, but I know fuckers like Hatton very well (get the same cunts in London). I'm not saying that Hatton is racist, but if a bunch of black dreads catch him and beat him to death.... .....I understand.
