Ray Hatton, the boxer’s father and business manager, has reached a verbal agreement for the bout, which could guarantee Hatton a minimum £5 million payday.
The bout is to take place on December 8 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, the same venue as for May’s superbout between Mayweather and Oscar De La Hoya, which became the biggest money--maker in history. De La Hoya’s firm, Golden Boy, will promote, having brokered the deal after flying Hatton Sr and Gareth Williams, Hatton’s lawyer, to Las Vegas for the bout between Bernard Hopkins and Ronald “Winkyâ€￾ Wright nine days ago. Mayweather, an unbeaten five-weight world champion who will be defending his WBC welterweight title, initially retired after his points win over De La Hoya.
Billy Graham, Hatton’s trainer, said it was Hatton’s “Sugar Ray Leonard fightâ€￾. “It’s the first [Roberto] Duran-Leonard fight all over again,â€￾ Graham said. “Look at how Duran won that fight and you will see how Ricky will beat Floyd.â€￾

 

Hattons old man should just button it anyways. What does a carpet salesman know about anything anyways?? About as much as Roger Mayweather knows about Astro-Physics, or Astro Turf for that matter.
