You are ridiculous. Blind floyd hatred for no reason. No one is saying that Floyd doesn't need to fight certain fighters. Floyd wanted to fight De la Hoya for a while before fighting him and I believe that was the motivation for him conitually jumping up in Weight from 130lbs. After defeating De La Hoya, his goal, and getting a title in a 5th division it seems as though he felt he had nothing else to shoot for and decided it was a good note to retire on. Honestly, to me..it didn't seem that he had any more motivation at that time. hatton called him out and so he returned to the ring. In the meantime guys like Cotto and Margarito became a little more relevant. They weren't relevant at the time when he was chasing then undisputed champion Judah, who would lose to Baldomir...leaving Floyd to fight both of them to feel like the Welterweight champ. Anyway not saying this to change your mind, because Floyd hatred is a powerful drug..just saying it for someone else to read and perhaps see a point of view that they hadn't considered...
All good points, agree with most of this. As I said, I don't think Floyd is a coward whatsoever. Maybe from Broadwayjoe's perspective he doesn't think thats the point.....just that he's just pissed off with comparisons to histories great fighters who simply got much, much more done whether through circumstance or motivation. Different criteria here. But im posting wasted again, Im getting as bad as Double L here.ray:
I'm not remotely pissed off. I'll leave that for Stafford. But you do have a point regarding Floyd groupies trying to rate him among the best ever when he doesn't deserve that distinction. And of course, grading Floyd's opposition on a curve to try to make them equal to Hagler, Hearns, Benitez and Duran. To be honest, it's insulting to even have to read that kind of crap.
