Floyd said he was looking at a couple of movie offers. I just figured maybe he was looking seriously at an acting career in Hollywood.:dunno:

:dunno: Where's the confusion? You don't think Floyd can act in rap videos?

why are you making the assumption that those roles are of the gangsta variety? he could be entertaining a small role in a major film like roy jones did in the matrix trilogy. granted we all know floyd will not be a major headliner of movie but lets not be an idiot about it and make false assumption that he can do only one type of role. you have no fucking clue what floyd can and cannot do. shit who thought the man would be on 'dancing with the stars' and he obviously made friends because a bunch of them showed up at the fight to support him.

Roy only appeared on-screen in Matrix for like a combined 1 minute and 48 seconds. And Roy ain't done nuttin' since then.
As for Floyd's skills, what role could he do in movies? He sure ain't no imposing 6'6" freak like Tex Cobb and Jack O'Halloran who both were in some of the biggest grossing movies ever like Bladerunner and Superman II.
Which role could little 5'8 147lb Floyd play? He doesn't scare anybody with his presence at all.:dunno:
As for dancing with the stars, that show is a joke. Even holyfield was on that show. The show's mainly for shot celebs at the end of their careers or needing something to do.

I don't blame Merchant. The sport has a SUPERSTAR now in Floyd...and we need superstars to bring in more fans. If Floyd retires the sport could suffer...

 The sport would forget Money May in 6 months. He's not cleaning out his divisions and proving he's the best welter. He's just taking money fights against shot fighters or small fighters. If he was for real, he'd be open-challenging the best fighters to his door.

wtf??? you aren't the sharpest tool in the shed are you? did you even try to understand phonetap's point...you seem to be tunnel focused on what you have to say ignoring everything else around you. you are letting your personal feelings (something extremely woman-like btw) blind your better judgement. bottom line (again), you have absolutely no clue what the man can and cannot do. roy jones, james toney, antonio tarver, fernando vargas all have had bit roles in films why can't floyd mayweather??? :dunno:

you've brought nothing to the table outside of silly assumptions based soley off your personal disdadin for the man. please prove to phonetap you can move beyond such pettiness...

"Godzilla & The Mayweathers - Throwdown In Mo' Money Town"

In a touching tale of boy meets monster, Floyd Jr. teaches Godzilla the value of money and uncle Roger shows Godzilla how to enjoy a can of Yams without having to spit fire all over tiny Asian people.

Will Floyd Jr. show Godzilla how to "Make It Rain"? Will Floyd Sr. show up unexpectedly and ruin the party by teaching Godzilla the shoulder roll and dooming him to a life of boring mega-fights against Moth-ra and The Smog Monster?

Opening December 28th at selected backyard BBQ's.

floyd is the best welterweight hands down...floyd doesn't have to fight anyone to prove his greatness...the other welterweights need to fight him to prove their greatness.

Ok now. Tell me something phonetap. If Roy, James, Antonio, and Vargas all had futures in Hollywood, why would they still be boxing long after their best days? Is the money in Hollywood not good enough to help keep their chosen rich lifestyle?
Why was Roy only in a tiny role in Matrxi and done nothing else? I don't see no James or Antonio on screen.
What makes you think little Floyd has any future in anything other than boxing? His head is getting too big and it's gonna be a crash landing when he finds out that nobody cares about him outside of the boxing ring.
Just how it is.:dunno: That's why I'm hoping he sticks with boxing rather than retiring. Because his peak is now and he could end up regretting retirement. He wants to take off the next 2 years which would be a shame since these are his best years and when they're gone, they're gone.
He needs to stick to what he does best.

 You've gone under the Money May spell. How do you prove you're the best welter when you're not fighting the other welters in your division?

Please... He beat the JWW champ, not another fellow WW. Floyd is not the best welterweight "Hands Down", Baldomir, Judah and Hatton don't cut it, especially when there are guys like Williams, Margarito and Cotto around. Don't get me wrong, Floyd is great, a legend IMHO, but he didn't prove he's the best welterweight around.

good, now at least you are thinking.

floyd's natural born talent is boxing, that's unquestioned. boxers don't exactly transfer well to the mainstream market in terms of marketing & advertising like other sports athletes do. phonetap only took odds with you because you made assumptions that floyd can only be a boyz-n-the-hood type character and that's ridiculous.

odds are against it, but phonetap hopes floyd gets with someone like magic johnson who could connect him with reputable financial advisors to ensure floyd keeps his money. it's very disconcerting watching floyd toss around money the way he does...he could very well end up financially wrecked like so many boxers before him. another option is for floyd to make peace with sugar ray leonard...who despite your previous statement, has indeed made a pretty good life for himself after boxing...and use him as a mentor with regards to keeping money post retirement.

What kind of bullshit is this? Floyd doesn't need to fight Welterweights to prove he's the best Welterweight on the planet?

No, we use a complicated formula, similar to the one used for QB Ratings, to determine the best WW in the world. Right now Floyd is at the top. I could explain the formula to you but it's really, really complicated. Just take my word on this one.

Floyd beat Judah and then the linear champion in Baldomir. He then showed he can beat an all time great fighter in Oscar at 154lbs and then beat the previously undefeated 140lb champion Hatton. Floyd is teh TRUE Welterweight champion.

The burden of proof is one the other titlists contenders..not Floyd.

does tiger woods need to prove he's the best golfer in the world? does roger federer need to prove he's the best tennis player? if you have any common sense, the answer is a resounding NO...they have already proven they are the best, the others have to prove they can beat them NOT the other way around. the same goes for floyd mayweather.

the backwards-assed logic being employed around here is....

Floyd should step up to heavyweight and fight Wlad if he wants to prove he's the best fighter in the world.

You're such a tool! If Floyd isn't the top Welterweight then YOU tell me who is..and I'll love to hear this justification. If no one else...then shut up!
