'LOL' @ two guys who had never been knocked out at world level before (yet were splattered on the canvas with nearly every solid punch Tito landed) as evidence of Tito being a very hard punching middleweight? Aye, alright.
I'd put any money you like on Eubanks and Benn punching harder than Tito at 160. Any money you like. And only once did either hurt Watson in a combined 30 rounds, when he was foolish enough to let his guard down after knocking Eubanks over. He still got up. MTF
Eubank!!! EUBANK!!!! Lose the S, chap! :: ... sorry, just drives me crazy to see everyone spell his name like he was the guy that hosted The Newlywed Game
His momma called him Eubanks, so I call him Eubanks... http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=000804&cat=boxer MTF :nana:
Actually I thought his momma called him Eubank. Didn't he change his name after he moved away from his father and to the states?
I thought he was born Eubanks and lost the 's' much later. Certainly I grew up with McGuighan on ITV calling him 'Eubanks' MTF
Chris Eubank, Lord of the Manor of Brighton (born Christopher Livingstone Eubanks on 8 August 1966) is a former boxer and British celebrity who held world titles at Middleweight and Super Middleweight. He was a world champion for over five years and undefeated as a middleweight. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Eubank MTF
Yeah I know. None of that really disputes what I said. Plus, announcers fuck up names all of the time. Teddy Atlas can barely pronounce his own name, never mind anyone elses. Ah, hardly matters. I just remember the first time I saw him live (first fight w/ Benn), it was billed as Eubank-Benn.
The hell you're talking about. Cherifi was ktfo by Keith Holmes many years before he fought Tito. I'll take anything you write with a huge grain of salt in the future
Regard everybody with suspicion, JOM! Your very own experience could be the deception of a powerful & malicious demon! FWIW, I've never seen the Holmes rematch but I misread boxrec's result as a DQ. My game's a bogey. Regardless, he'd gone the distance with Holmes, Simon, D. Reid, R. Reid & Joppy in title fights, prior to Tito bouncing him off the canvas every time he landed solidly, so he was hardly a chinny blow over. Im not gonna pretend he was anything better than a C+ fighter, but in the context of the point I was trying to make....etc.
I'm sure if Watson stuck out his chin and let Tito land at will that Tito would probably stop him, but I don't think he'd do that ..
Gimme Tito by late KO, behind on the cards. MW Tito is pretty underrated. People act as if he was crap at 160. But the Joppy fight proves otherwise. Hopkins simply MADE him look like crap at 160. And Micheal Watson, though a good/very fighter, was NO Hopkins.
Trinidad couldn't beat any decent fighter at middle. I'd pick Abraham over Tito at 160. Watson took Benn's shots and he hit about 1000 times harder than Cheato. Watson by ko or easy, easy, easy, easy.com decision 100 out of 100. Felix Trinidad was a bottom level world class fighter a welter. He dies against any decent middle.
Watson blocked 99% of Benn's wild hooking shots with his gloves that were pinned to the sides of his head. Watson didn't really taste Benn's power..but he would taste Tito's...who's a precision puncher with the full repertoire of punches.
Watson by UD. I think he outboxes Tito, blocks most of his shots, and takes/recovers from the shots that Trinidad does land.
