Take for example Hector Macho Camacho. He is a total dickead outside the ring. But inside the ring, in his prime, he was a marvel to watch! Wilfredo Gomez was the greatest idol P.R. ever had. He was more beloved than Tito Trinidad. Yet, that was despite the fact that he was an arrogant son a bitch outside the ring. If we are talking about great personalities, then the #1 from P.R. is easily Alfredo 'El Salsero' Escalera. This guy was so cool and so funny that he was the kind of guy you love to have as a friend. True, as a boxing champion he didn't went far (except for those two legendary bloody wars he had with a prime Alexis Arguello...heck 11 title defenses is not bad! Even Arguello once stated Escalera should be enshrined in the Hall of Fame!), but people still remember him with fondness because he was such a great person.
