it's jaws' rhetoric way of saying 'you dont know anything besides post-90s and asian boxers'. either that or it's just an unfunny asian joke, which is not surprising.

Hercules Kyvelos was the same size as Margarito as I recall,...and what's more Margarito has no hesitation whatsoever in taking them on, he faced Cintron, he faced Santos, now he takes on the TOWERING Paul Williams,.... :nono: piss off Fraud groupies, keep your hands to yourself.

Taylor sucks weight too. He's huge for a middle... by your logic, shouldn't he be fighting at light heavyweight?

it was a korean bantamweight from the 90's, which apparently Joony has no knowledge of.

Although before this, I thought he knew nothing except post-90 Korean bantamweights...

    Both guys are real tall.
It depends on a definition of "huge".
I don't always just consider someone tall as huge.
I would consider Hurricane Carter huge for a middleweight, and he was 5'7.

What about everyone else at 147 who are much bigger than Cotto like Margarito, Williams, Cintron...should THEY also be fighting at 160 or is it only COTTO that should move up?

It's all about height in proportion to thickness Illuminati, if you compress the bulk of Cotto into the leaness equal to Margarito, then convert the extra mass into height, he'd be 6"6. :eeeek: the fuqin cheat.

This is getting way off topic about "one-upping" this fighter, and then the next.
I have had my final say on this matter, the man is a middleweight and needs to start fighting middleweights.

It's a statement that was originally made about Graziano because he was known for fighting guys moving up from welterweight to middleweight.

Cotto's still growing, and he moved up from Junior Welter too long ago. I would recommend against him going up in weight too quickly. Delahoya moved up from lightweight to junior welter to welter in a relatively short time frame, and DLH had like 4 inches in height on Cotto. I believe DLH actually moved up to quickly from Junior Welter to Welter, and it blunted his power for a few years. Cotto should not be moving up to middleweight anymore than Floyd should. They're just not middleweights. Too short. :dunno:

If you are a good fighter and have the skills then it shouldn't matter the size of the fighter that Cotto is fighting. I mean all we have to do is look at the DLH/PBF fight. Hell DLH weighed more than PBF on fight night and had all of the other physical advantages. If you got skillz then you fight cats that no matter what their size is. By the way where in boxing rules does it state that fighters have to be a certain height to fight against each other. Hell if that's the case then Valev should never lose do him being the tallest fighter out there. However Cotto should atleast be fighting at 154. I'll Holla 5000

Not as long as he weight 148 with 7 days until the fight....Cotto is 147!!!!...If he weight 160-165 with 7 days till fight time...then he should move up....but till then...he is a WELTERWEIGHT...

    He speaks fair English now.
BTW: pug (Mike Doss) also met him as well that night and he can vouch for that.
We met Roberto Guerrero as well that night, and I still owe him an interview, nice cat.

I just think that it is weak as hell for cats to kill themselves and melth themselves down to weight where they have this huge weight advantage come fight night. Perhaps they should go back to same day weighins. And if cats die from dehydration then they shouldn't have been fighting at that weight to begin with. Fighters just need to fight at their natural weight limit and stop all the damn cheating. I'll Holla 5000

If a cat has to cut that much weight 7 days before a fight then he has no business fighting at 147. And it is true Cotto did weigh 148 7 days prior to the fight. The question is how much did he weigh entering into the ring. That's the issue and if he weighed close to the 154lb limit or above then he prolly needs to fight at a higher limit. As a matter of fact there should be a rule that a fighter can only weigh 5-7lbs above the contracted weight limit. That would reduce all this cheating and entering the ring 2 divisons above your opponent. I'll Holla 5000

The problem with that is that the weigh-ins were changed to the day before to minimize the effects of making weight, such as blood clots. You can say that people shouldn't cut lots of weight, but people look for advantages in every sport. It would be fair for fighters to weigh in on the day of the fight, but it would likely mean increased odds on certain fighters dying. I say let them weigh in on the day before as they already go through enough and already suffer enough physical trauma in the ring without a sudden change that makes it worse.
