My cousin has been calling this for years. Cotto has a tendency to dip low and the uppercut could be a big problem.

Cotto is going to be doing this all fight long...turning Canelo landing to the body and head....Canelo needs room and range to plan his feet and throw those "bombs"..Cotto will not give it to him.

Freddie's a crackpot. No way Cotto is stopping Canelo. Canelo is going to beat that ass something terrible. The ref will have to rescue Cotto and Miguel's face will be a bloody swollen mess.

    Totally.

Cotto has had a bunch of wars and knows what it takes when things go deep.

Canelo? He's about to find out....

Even if you're amongst those like me picking the Ginger, it's ridiculous to state that theres no way Cotto can stop Canelo. Where's this proof of a great Canelo chin????? Cotto's the best puncher he's ever faced and the best offensive fighter he's ever faced. We're ASSUMING Canelo has the chin to take Cotto's power - we don't KNOW.

If Cotto knocks out Canelo tomorrow there won't be any kind of Tyson-Douglas shock.

Agreed with your last sentence. Canelo isn't a huge favourite and Cotto could certainly win the fight. I wouldn't be entirely surprised to see Cotto win. However...I refuse to sit on the fence for this one. I'm going all in. Canelo by brutal beatdown.

Canelo is young and hungry, bigger and stronger, hasn't been involved in wars and when he lets his hands go it's spectacular. Plus he's rather heavy handed...even though he obviously doesn't have one punch power. Cotto may have more power....but as i said before....I suspect that Canelo has a much better chin.

Cotto will run out of gas and ginger nuts will catch up with him late and stop him.

I remember THIS FORUM before Tito-Vargas, and the Vargas groupies stating "No way Tito can stop Vargas. Vargas has a granite chin."..... 30 seconds in and that notion went out the window.

Moral of the story - we have no idea how Canelo will react until Cotto hits him flush with that hook.

I was one of those that picked Tito to stop Vargas.

Difference here is that Cotto does not have Tito type power. Highly unlikely he stops Canelo...in fact I'd flat out say...HE IS NOT STOPPING CANELO.

Cotto took 12 rounds to stop Zab Judah and about the same to stop a shot Mayorga (who was getting stopped by everyone at that time)....and never once even slightly hurt Pacquiao or Margarito. He's not stopping Canelo...no way.

I don't think Cotto wins, let alone stops Canelo. And if Cotto WERE to win, I'd say more likely by decision.

BUT... don't act like it's an impossibility, when Canelo's chin has never REALLY been tested. And I never said Cotto had Trinidad power. However, he's the best puncher Canelo has faced. Used up versions of Angulo and Kirkland don't really tell us much about Canelo's chin. Especially Angulo, who looked like he was punching under water.

True we don't know...but I believe a chin deficiency would have shown up by now if he had one. I'd be SHOCKED if Cotto even visibly hurt him let alone stopped him. I don't see that AT ALL. If I did...I'd probably pick Cotto, as my entire basis for picking Canelo is that Cotto can't hurt him...whereas I know Canelo can hurt Cotto.

I just don't see Cotto taking too much of this:

I like Cotto...he's a humble soft spoken warrior with a lot of heart. Nice guy. Canelo seems like a nice guy too.

I think it's better for boxing if Canelo wins because he's a young lion and Cotto's towards the end of his career. plus Canelo-GGG is more likely than Cotto-GGG.

I say...winner of this fight, if they don't face GGG, should rematch Mayweather.

Cotto beating Canelo......might lead to GGG vs. Canelo happening much sooner...Canelo will go down into a slight depression...blow up to 190-200 lbs...and be force to move to 160....2-3 easy fight build him up again and Canelo vs. GGG by the end of 2016 very possible!!!
