YEARS Ago, Cotto's BROTHER Flirted w/Stopping Canelo, Hurting him as BADLY as we've Ever Seen....Yes, it's RIDICULOUS to Think Cotto has NO Chance of Winning this Fight by KO...

I give Canelo a pass for that because he was only 19 in that fight and his body had yet to fill out. I think Nelo has a decent chin, but do I think he has a Marciano/Chavez/Lamotta chin? Hell no!

Yeah, but Cotto's Been SHARPER Under Roach...His Technique & Accuracy's NEVER Been Bad, but it Appears to be Even BETTER Under Roach...

When Canelo walks through Cotto like a blowtorch through butter...I'll remind everyone of their pre-fight suggestions of Cotto hurting Canelo.

THIS is the part I don't agree with.

Roach hasn't actually added anything to Cotto's game. I was watching the Cotto-Marg rematch earlier today - SAME damn Cotto. Same technique, same sharpness, same footwork.

Miggy has ALWAYS been fluid on his feet, has always had a good jab, and always threw good combos. It's just that SOMETIMES he's inconsistent with it and fights too flat footed.

I think the purpose Roach serves is to REMIND Miggy to use his best style, the style that made him a star - which is when he's on his toes as a boxer/puncher.

Cats are acting like Roach actually taught Cotto NEW skills, and he hasn't. He just has him staying more FOCUSED.

IF Cotto wins tomorrow, I'm sure Roach will get too much credit. Truth is, if Cotto can beat Canelo tomorrow, it means virtually any version of Cotto coulda beaten Canelo.

Quite a few people here will be shocked when they see the way Canelo plows through Cotto after the fight being competitive early. People will start saying that Cotto is shot, or weight drained and some other excuse. Canelo's going to fuck him up royally.

Waddup Tapper, nice to see you.

Sly seems to think Canelo is the Mexican Tyson.

He's never walked through anybody with the exception of Kirkland. Cotto, is not Kirkland.

I'm torn on who I WANT to win. On one hand, I WANT Canelo to win because he's young, and with a big win can become a big name to the mainstream and therefore a positive for boxing.

On the other hand, I want Cotto to embarrass him because 1. Oscar will cry and probably snort a few lines and hide. 2. A Canelo win, and his groupies will overrate him to absurd levels. They'll be threads discussing if Canelo coulda beaten Leonard, Hagler, and Hearns.

In NO Way is REED Crediting Roach w/"Reinventing" Miguel Cotto...But Undoubtedly, to REED's Eye's, Cotto's a SHARPER, More ACCURATE Puncher than he's EVER Been...Not Considerably, but there's a Difference...The Way Guys REACT to Cotto's Shots, Especially @ HIGHER Weights, Isn't the Same as it Was @ Lower Weights...

REED Thinks ACCURACY is the Key...

Usually I would go for the younger guy for the betterment of boxing......but in this case....FUCK BOXING!!! Canelo is young enough that even if he takes an asswhopping he will be TOP level P4P in 12-18 months time...a few good victory he will be back on top....n more likely to fight GGG for big pesos.

Yes it's ridiculous! Utterly and absolutely ridiculous. Canelo was 19 in the fight you are speaking of. How silly to base anything on that.

At this point how would you say it? Hmmm....oh yes I remember.....

So many guys in this thread were suggesting that a Cotto win by stoppage was a distinct possibility. I need to start giving you guys some lessons on how to analyze fights and fighters. I'll come back shortly with rates....
