Of course. He's too five in a deep, deep division. That alone makes you a great amongst greats. The real reason I find Sanchez overrated, is actually because I find Gomez at 126 overrated.

I also think he gets the benefit of people only seeing his main fights. The people who've only see him destroy Gomez, Nelson and Lopez, don't know about the trouble he had with Ford, Cowdell, Castillo, etc; which I think affects his standing when people talk about him in MMs.

I agree with the last part.

Trust me, I've changed my mind on many Sanchez match ups along the years as I became more knowledgeable.

The me of 2001 would say that Sanchez stops Pedroza and Arguello.

Now? I think Pedroza would have outboxed him, and I think Arguello would have fucked him up, to be honest.

I think Pedroza beats him. When it would have happened, Arguello destroys him IMO. Methinks his pressure would be too much for him. Lopez may have hit a bit harder, but Arguello was sharp, precise, and extremely fast.

I think he puts Sanchez away with a combo. Some time after 12 when Arguello turns it up.

Not for nothing, but Danny Lopez was past his prime by time Sal fought him.

Would it have mattered? No. There's no version of Lopez that beats Sanchez.

But, he was past his prime. Far slower and less sharp by 1980 than he was in the mid 70s when he destroyed Olivares, and Hafey.
