It is now confirmed and the overall consensus that Mayweather has a deep FEAR of losing to Pacquaio, perhaps of even receiving a vicious beating from him.

But if Floyd ever signs the dotted line, it doesn't mean he'll lose to him. He will be FAVORED to hand Pacquaio a defeat. He is bigger, stronger and perhaps even faster than Pacquaio.

Mayweather doesn't fear other fighters..this is obvious from his career to date. He may not have fought an undefeated Cotto or a Margarito..but it's not as though he only foughts guys that he was heavily favoured to win against.

Anyway...I've always said that stylewise (with teh exception of Paul Williams) Pacquiao is teh toughest fight for him. Pacquiao has faster hands, and even more stamina. Pacquiao is also a southpaw.

But Floyd will win make no mistake. All Floyd has to do is fight Pacquiao the way he fought Mosley and he wins 8 of 12 rounds. Pacquiao doesn't like being pushed back.

Whatever level of confidence Mayweather has, I am thoroughly convinced it doesn't get near matching yours, Sly.

Money May doesn't want to make an easy 50 mill or so against Pacman. Strange eh Sly? Very strange. He'd rather make less money against others.

Since he's afraid to face Pacquiao, he'd rather retire than endure the shame of fighting an opponent other than Pacquiao.

I think if he fights like he did against Mosley would only spell DISASTER for Floyd. In order to win he should go back on his bike and potshot Pacquaio, who is suspectible to being hit more than warranted.

Pacquaio being a southpaw is open to a lead right hand. Floyd should only try to walk him down after several rounds. Mosley was walked down immediately after the first bell. SURPRISING for some, utter GENIOUS for others.

Floyd is afraid of losing because he has made such a big deal out of being unbeaten, undefeated. He has basically created a monkey for his own back. Looking at Floyd now, one is reminded of Larry Holmes prognosis for Leon Spinks. I can just see Floyd, three or four years for now, in the very early stages of Pugilistica Dementia Financia, announcing a comeback, talking about how the time is right for Floyd Mayweather Jr, how he has unfinished business, etc. :shit:

Mayweather's image doesn't look too good now. I don't care what anyone says, but it looks like he's geniunely afraid to fight Pacquiao. Thats twice he's gotten out of fighting Pacquiao.

I'm starting to get the same feeling.

And I think its not happening because Floyd never really wanted to fight him.

He is blowing it, basically. He could fight Pacquaio, lose, fight him again and win, and make $50m total and have his reputation intact, and retire. He cannot fucking lose, even if he loses, but he just don't grasp it. This is all a figment of his own imagination, a creature of his own creation. Of course, he is not surrounded by people who are given to straight talk.

...& it amazes me how anyone could really see him in the positive light some still do, frankly.

I dislike it immensely. I can't remember the last time a fighter I was admittedly once a fan of (a long time ago, mind) not only lost me, but came to be so contemptuous in their behaviour, short of criminal activities.

As sure as the man isn't ashamed, he damn well should be.

Floyd is gonna wake up someday, and he will be old, on the slide and not as rich as he thought he was. He is gonna end up like Meldrick Taylor sans the brain damage. I am sure of it.

I think Floyd has a couple of fights out there, like Berto or Martinez or Bradley, but to be honest, a dominating win over the lineal WW champ is a good way to go out.

    Yes, it is.

Not good enough, though. Not for the image he wants.

Floyd doesn't care what 400 or so Bert Sugar flunkies think of him...

His place in boxing history is already set in stone at the moment...it could go down. But if he retires now it won't...

God Bless Floyd. The most carefully calculated boxing career ever! Every single fight carefully picked. The guy was a genius.:bears:

Hatton - forced up to 147 to fight Floyd. A weight Hatton couldn't compete at as Collazo proved.

Marquez - forced up 2 weight classes against a Floyd who came in over the limit.

DLH - long past his prime, Floyd edges with a narrow decision

Mosley - shot fighter, long past his best

Judah - lost to Baldomir, complete headcase

Baldomor - WTF was this guy even doing on a PPV against Floyd? Awful fight.

Not to 99% of sports fans. Those guys are basically nobodies who couldn't fill a 5000 seat arena. The only fight that matters is Mayweather vs Pacquiao.

Is there anyone Floyd has faced that he WASN'T a heavy favorite against?

I can't think of anyone since he moved to Welter. MAYBE he wasn't a heavy fave against DLH but if he was, then I can't imagine who he fought that anyone in their right mind thought he would lose to, unless they're just so filled with Floyd hatred that they can't see or think straight.

I don't like Floyd. AT ALL. But he was probably a heavy favorite in every fight he's been in for the past 10 years at least.

I want him to go out on his back.

Once Floyd loses he's mentally done. will never be the same. He's got such a thing about losing now, once it happens he's fucked. he'll fight past when he needs to...he'll need the money.
