Yeah, although I don´t think as highly of Alvarez as others, he should be able to stop Baldomir. If this was the 2002 Baldomir, he would batter Alvarez into submission. Now it will probably be the other way around.

WTF didn´t Aydin win the WBC welterweight interim/silver belt in Turkey a few months ago. Now Alvarez is the WBC silver champion, too. Besides Berto being the real WBC champ. :flip:

Yeah, I'm not very high on Alvarez either. Through two, I smell a distance fight.

Impressive finish for Alvarez. You want to see that from a young, budding star.

You have to wonder if Floyd had opened up whether he could have done that. I think so too. Dealing with a guy like Bumdomir is a question of attitude.

i doubt it. baldomir has a hard fucking head. he is 39 years old and hasnt been fighting. he cashed out vs mayweather jr and hasnt been as serious in training since.

Yeah, again unlike you, I don't like to assume that a fighter is the same guy every times he fights over the years. Crappy comparison.

Maybe, maybe. Alvarez seems a bit compact for a welterweight...very squat in comparison to Oscar or Floyd in that regard. He was also getting hit a lot by Bumdomir's slow-ass shots.

That said I commend his KO.

Yeah, he holds his left out there a little long sometimes and Baldomir caught him with some right hands. I don't think much of Alvarez, but I hope he does well. The more good fighters the merrier.

alvarez is a limited kid. he admitted he's a year to 18 months away from the bigtime. plus he's at welter not 54 when he fights for belts.

Angulo isnt really the BIG TIME though. I mean its not like putting Canelo in with Williams, Martinez, or Cotto.

But I agree Canelo will prob fight for a belt at 147. Lets all hope that one day he puts Andre BertHOE to sleep.

Im pretty sure berto would beat the shit outta alvarez. Angulo allegedly drove from LA to florida, by himself, the week of the cintron fight. A retarded move, but that could explain his listless performance that night. i still consider him top 5 at '54.

Only Jim, Larry, and Harold in the house. Kinda like for Marquez-Diaz II only Jim, Manny, and Harold were calling the fights. Could have something to do with HBO's "budget issues."

At this point Berto wins. In the future? It might be Alvarez. All I know for sure is that left hook that just took out Bumlomir would have sent glass jaw Berto to the hospital. But on the flip side, Alvarez could get seriously hurt by Berto's uppercut.

As for Perro, I still like him... but I lost some respect for him by essentially bitching outta fighting Martinez. I'll forgive him though if he fought, and fucked up that loud mouth fraud known as Vanes.
