Very apparent from this picture that Shane has the longer arms. Pity Shane doesn't have an authoritative jab...all that reach is wasted with his style...Floyd will still outjab him and beat him at range.
btw...I have to say that Mayweather Snr looks much better without that ridiculous cornrow crap on his head. Finally he looks a little dignified as a man his age should. leave corn rows to the kids.....
Yeah, he'll do what he did against a shot Oscar. Like a chicken sh*t little bitch, he'll fight off his backfoot, slipping, ducking and peppering with little jabs and putting his back on the ropes, rolling his shoulder, giving his back, waiting for the ref to seperate them and keep doing this gay sh*t for 12 rounds and hope the judges give him the decision and then talk about how he's better than Ali and SRR because he fights like a gay fruit bitch, and all his blowhards can f*ck eachother into next morning talking about his amazing legacy!
Well, best to both as I am a fan of both of them. They are in wonderful condition and have given themselves the best chance of winning, and I wish them a hearty meal of steak and salad with fruit, and a good nights sleep tonight as the sports world will be waiting for the promised epic encounter. The Kentucky Derby, the NBA Playoffs, and a Mega Fight! What a weekend for sports junkies!
Stinger, I remember you clearly saying your buttboy Fraud F*ckweather was going to obliterate Oscar and make him look like a clueless dipsh*t. How did it feel when watching that fight just how much of a scared little cunt Fraud was in that fight with his ultra defensive backfoot tip tap sh*t for 12 rounds and having the fight of his life against a guy who was basically retired from the sport and only there for the paycheque? :: Fraud was gifted the fight with a Split Decision over a semi-retired shot DLH in the most boring mega fight in recent memory with the crowd completely booing Fraudweather at the end!
I'm sure you did.:: 118-110 based on what? The SOB didn't even fight. He pussyfooted around the f*cking ring for 12 boring ass rounds. Nobody would've complained if DLH got the decision. The official cards were: judge: Chuck Giampa 112-116 | judge: Jerry Roth 113-115 | judge: Tom Kaczmarek 115-113 Not exactly a dominating display. Only Fraud's cockslurpers would've had it 118-110. Even his old man had Oscar as the winner!
I had it 7 & 5 for Mayweather. I think it was a clear win for him, but not a dominant one. What I saw, all-in-all, was enough to convince me the De La Hoya of seven or eight years earlier probably (though not certainly) would've beaten Mayweather.
Well, to me, De La Hoya's improvement if you turned back the clock seven or eight years would supercede Mayweather's if he were fighting at 147 that night, instead of 154. Both would be better-prepped, but De La Hoya would improve more. On the other hand, Mayweather's speed & style aren't exactly conducive to De La Hoya's best work being put on show. It'd be naturally close, & neither man would win more than two consecutive rounds, IMO, but I think De La Hoya would edge him, if I had to guess. Maybe a 6-5 & 1 verdict.
Floyd handled Oscar like a sparring partner, bro. Floyd won that fight 10-2, it was a wipe out. I never said Floyd was my boy, I have said that I admire him, I think he is a great fighter that could have held his own with the Immortals, but no way do I think he could have beaten a Sugar Ray Robinson, Henry Armstrong, Leonard, Hearns, Gavilan, or Napoles, because he could not. Still, a great fighter on the level of IBHOF's Curtis Cokes, Carlos Palomino, and Pipino Cuevas, and that is an outstanding career accomplishment! Karl
I essentially agree with your view on the particular level of all-time greatness Mayweather occupies.
I think both guys would've always given each other problems. The higher in weight, the better the chances for DLH.
Right. Not just because Mayweather was a smaller man, either --- also because the De La Hoya of 130 & 135 wasn't experienced enough to beat the Mayweather of the same weight, IMO. What about at 140, though? To my mind, this was De La Hoya's peak weight, where he was at his most devastating. Yes, his major bouts & achievements lay in later weights, but you could say the same for Trinidad at 147, & I think he never looked better than at 154.
