    Oh...damn....Winky vs Tito.

Not quite Calzaghe vs Lacy, but not a million miles off it.

I dont think Winky put a foot wrong all night, he totally defused, confused, bemused, backed up and sorted Tito, all the way.

Only think that performance lacked was Tito being floored. Tito was never in it. Winky made a clown of him....12 rounds of bomb-defusing.

That moment in the 8th when Winky stood there with the ear-muffs on, center of the ring, and Tito was just, like.."uh...uhhh...what do I do now"...he basically did nothing, and Winky resumed hitting him some moments later.

Tito was being hurt by the southpaw jab, and was doing a little dance on the spot on more than one occasion.

Would Winky's first fight with Mosley qualify? It wasn't as lopsided as Tito, but Shane won three rounds max.

I would have to look at that one again....I prefer the Tito-Winky fight as by round 8, if not a good bit earlier, Trinidad was already wondering if he had what it took to win. Thats part of a complete performance- making the other sucker worry, early.

I dont think the number of rounds won is the only factor, for example, Barrera beat the shit out of Kennedy McKinney for the best part of 12 rounds, but it was far from complete from Marco, as he got floored, fought flat-footed and got hit quite a bit. McKinney was never in it...he took a beating, but Marco made a lot of mistakes, even if he wanted it that way. It is worth noting that Marco got KTFO very soon after that, evidence that he was in the business of making lots of mistakes, something which he changed later, becoming, if you will, a more complete fighter:cheer:

An awful lot of the fights that Winky won have been complete performances....simply because he has to be complete, his style and his punch dont allow him to overwhelm, or throw caution to the wind. So he has to do just about everything right.

When he was in the business of going to England under the auspices of the Acaries brothers, he basically beat guys up, slowly...Dodson, Foster and Ensley Bingham, all of whom lost when Winky bust them up and broke them over 6, 6 and 12 rounds respectively, dropping maybe, oh, 4 rounds in total.

And all he had to do was stick a jab in his face:lol:

But he did more than that...he doubled up on it, dropped in the left and backed him up. Basically took his heart and beat him around. Guy was all out of options by the half-way point, and he was doing the old scrambled-brains shuffle too!

Oscar stuck his jab out too vs Tito...to about 10% of the effect of Winky.

Yeah your'e probably right, I haven't seen the fight since the first time it aired. I do remember Winky relying heavily on the jab, Winky fought a great fight but I do wish he would have stepped on the gas and tried to finish him, but thats really not Wright's style.

Thats why I like Joe and Hopkins vs Lacy and Tito respectively, Hopkins did it cos the mother is paranoid, Joe did cos the bastard is vain, but they both did it, they both went for the big KO.
