Ive always prefered Duran's beat down of Palimino to the beatdown of Moore. Duran was beautiful in the Palimino fight.

I do respect Duran in the same way I respect John Ruiz that when you lack skill and your physical attributes are so-so you must come up with a good strategy to win and both Duran and Ruiz made respectable careers in similar fashion and deserve to be side to side in the boxing history. My hat goes off to both of them

I couldn't even make it to the end of this post tbh, mate. The gimmick is played out.

So is the gimmick of praising Duran's mauling victories as if they were on par with the best performances in history. Duran was solid OK but come on

I can't even get into this with you mate, because you don't believe what you're saying and arguing with a pretend opinion is a waste of time even by internet forum standards.

I agree let's not get into it. I might indeed go overboard with Duran staff sometimes but seriously I don't see what the big fuss is about. Is there some Duran fight in particular I should watch that could change my mind: the Moore bout didn't do it so is there some else?

If the Moore fight didn't, nah, I wouldn't waste your time. He isn't for you.

What fight did you pick for this thread out of curiosity, mate? Obviously angles, balance, seamless & flowing defence and attack, footwork, energy, punch picking and aggression don't do it for you, I'm curious what does.

Speaking of virtuoso Duran performances, I love his performance in the third Dejesus fight.

The second fight was more exciting, and may have featured a better Dejesus (who is said to have already started chasing the dragon by the rubber match), but Duran was so brilliant and methodical in the third match. He slowly but gradually broke Dejesus down and his defense was amazing.

Oh, please! Duran can't control himself, painting a beautiful canvas of fouls, but Mayweather doing it is just ugly, nefarious & unconscionable?

Did Duran stroll through dewy meadows & take long walks on the beach, too? Certain great fighters in history will always inspire romance beyond their abilities, & I believe Duran will always be just as much a target of that as Ali or Robinson. I've seen it enough times.

I don't really hold good offensive cheating against anyone, tbh. It takes an exceptional craftsman to foul consistently and get away with it. Bitch cheating to get away from fighting is another deal. I think I made the distinction I make there pretty clear in the original post?

And of course I romantise Duran, I just compared him to a puppy dog & called his bouncy hair child like, it's a redundant question. I find watching him inspiring, I make no apologies for it.

    Lastly, http://youtubetime.com/

if you get a spare 5 minutes at some point during the next few days I'd be very curious to see some examples of all this cheating in the moore fight

I will dissect the fight sometime in the next few days. I think I have it on DVD somewhere anyway.
