    Did they start off really different? Simple Minds started off as a punkish outfit then a kinda cool avant garde nuwave/kratwerk inspired outfit and ended the 80s sounding like a naffer version of U2.

    I don't really know man. Wikipedia says he's on some Sky Atlantic show with Kathy Burke but i think he kinda lost interest in stand up. Frankie Boyle basically stole his schtick.

    I thought he was good on that panel show as far as it goes. I didn't think much of him as a stand up though.....it was just line after line, it wasn't stitched together in any kind of conversational manner. I heard he had a meltdown during a show in Glasgow about a year ago and waded into the crowd to punch some chap up.

    Yes. They had a different name and style. They recorded "Holding Back The Years" first with a different arrangement. Then remade it as Simply Red.

    I played a show with these guys about 100 years ago. Although most rap just translates terrible live, these guys were really pretty good. Having a live band playing heavier music, and not having 20 guys all trying to rap at the same time helped. Gotta love the boxing aspect of the video.

    Another one of Peter Hook's failed side projects outside of New Order. Monaco. They sound EXACTLY like New Order. The guy sounds like Bernard Sumner and even uses the same weird inflections as Sumner when he sings. These guys had one album and then the record company shitcanned their second LP. Just like in Revenge, another case of Peter Hook burning bridges and running people off. Funny thing is, New Order played this same festival as their big return after a five year hiatus. I can only imagine them backstage listening to a carbon copy band playing.
