It absolutely does... If I had never heard of Lou Reed and you played me that track, I'd know inside 30 seconds the timeframe down to two years it was recorded... It's as dated as everything you claim is dated

Nah seriously it just isn't. Note that when the Simpsons do a bit with pastiche music instantly meant to evoke The 70s it sounds absolutely nothing like Transformer

It sounds nothing like 100s of artists and albums released during that time... Transformer is an obvious early-mid seventies recording

Just because you can deduce when something was recorded doesn't make it dated in that sense of the word. If I heard the Feelies for the first time i'd be able to take a good guess that Crazy Rhythms came out sometime between 79-82 but calling it 'dated' would be bizarre.

It's all "dated" to somebody ... The point is that it's a ridiculous criteria for something being great art or not ... Transformer is no less dated than anything else recorded 40 years ago ... How dated it is to an individual is entirely dependent upon that individual's particular prejudices, age, etc ... In other words, you are a severe, insatiable roaster and I hate you

more from my favorite singer of all time (Mohammed Rafi). unfortunately, these are much better if you understand the lyrics.. back in those days, Bollywood lyrics were written by urdu poets (in this case, Majrooh Sultanpuri. marked contrast from the shitty pop-crap that Indian film music has mostly become). still awesome either way, though. Rafi's voice was amazing.

You don't like loaded, he doesn't like you... This thread has eclipsed 200 pages free from discussions about race, muslims, grooming, bombing, terrorists, etc and it's all the better for it ... You've got a dozen threads you can use for that stuff
