Kurt Cobain played that song during an interview on BBC Bristol, apparently it was his favourite song at the time. It's one of the only instances of an "overlap" with the grunge and Britpop eras I can find. The other was when Cobain was wearing a Suede badge in a joint interview with Kim Deal.

 

Did you know Kurt's favourite ever band were from Glesga? Makes me like him a little more.

Honestly, there aren't any I like. Wanton is pretty inoffensive and if you played me a mix of Kashmir without the vocials I'd probably like it well enough.

 

What are some other great bands we can ask Hut about?

 

"Whole Lotta Love" is mine, but I also love "Moby Dick" as there's a quality Drum solo in there by the legend that is Mr John Bonham.

"My Man" by The Eagles

I hate the fucking Eagles... They sucked balls... They were only good for a tasty guitar solo, other than that, fuck them... Glenn Frey and Don Henley are two of the worst people ever associated with the music business on the music end... horrible people

That song (of course not written by either of those dickwads) is the only remotely sincere statement ever made in that group's entire existence... it's a tribute to a great artist, Gram Parsons by a guy who used to play with him (The Eagles' Bernie Leadon) ... genuinely lovely song

I do find it hilarious that Hut likes THAT fucking song considering how he accuses any singer who sounds even kind-of dramatic or emotional of being a phony or a solipsist::

 

I want to like The Who, I really do, they're from Shepherds Bush/Hounslow and as far as I know are QPR fans (can't be arsed checking), but yeah, never really got them either.

 

Well, yeah. I wouldn't normally go for it but I loved that film so much everything contained in it seemed great.
