The California State Athletic Commission is expected to convert Emanuel Navarrete’s controversial technical decision victory over Charly Suarez to a no-contest, BoxingScene learned Saturday night. Full story: boxingscene.com/articles/calif…
Suarez made a mistake - punching Navarette so hard and accurately in the face, causing a cut. Cost him the fight.
That shoulb be overturned for a win to Suarez. If the cut was bad enough for the fight to be stopped, its irrelevant that a bad call was made beforehand.
Should be but we are talking about Top Rank. Bob "Yesterday I was lying, today I'm telling the truth" Arums company and philosophy permeates it. Navarette corruptly got a lot of time to recover from Liam Wilsons left hook when he was very badly hurt also. One day some lunatic fighter who gets robbed is going to get a gun and start shooting all of the people involved in robbing him. I'm surprised it hasn't happened already, considering how much work boxers put in to getting a chance to fight in big fights, only to have some grand larceny pulled on them in broad daylight by some old fat corrupt white/Jewish men who profit from it.
on what grounds ? the grounds that the cut that ended the fight was caused by a punch not a headbutt?
Everyone knows that was a punch that caused the cut but because Navarrete is one of Top Ranks favorites they couldn’t afford to have him lose. At least they’re ordering an immediate rematch. Just hope its more fair this time.
Then why no contest? That's my point. If it was ruled a punch, why is it not a loss for Navarette? So there must be some grounds (unknown to me) for now calling it a no-contest. Apparently, you haven't thought this through.
