I just finished watching the ESPN 30 for 30 Documentary about the Baaad Boy Pistons! Enjoyed it a lot. They had footage of that very scene. Pistons really beat up on the Lakers (and Jordan) the two years they won it. Mahorn (1st title), Laimbeer and even Isiah were throwing guys all over the place.

I kind of miss that brand of basketball to be honest.

Jordan came across as really hating Isiah, to this day, even though he's the one that was talking shit about the Pistons to the press from the beginning.

David Stern came across as the smarmy businessman that he was to. Expressing open regret about letting the Pistons win a couple titles before single-handedly changing many of the rules of the game to make the Pistons brand of basketball obsolete.

TBH, I thought the Spurs were done after the 2013 finals. The mere thought of them having a better record next time and remaining healthy until the playoffs seemed so far fetched. Yet they accomplished that and won it all. There's o denying it, they have an old core and even their young players are struggling to remain healthy. This is gonna be an ugly regular season for them and it's about time that they will get beat by a younger team in the postseason. You can never count out a formidable team like the Spurs but I don't even see them in the finals this year.

Jordan DOES Hate Isiah, To This Very Day...

The Bad Boy Pistons were the 1 OBSTACLE in Jordan's Path to Immortality & Though Jordan Eventually Cleared that Hurdle, Magnificently, he Still Harbors RESENTMENT...The Pistons Kicked Jordan's Ass for 3-4 CONSECUTIVE Years, Before Mike Finally Broke Through...

As you Probably Know, Jordan Made it Clear he WOULD NOT Play for the Original "Dream Team", if Isiah Thomas was Included...As a Result, Isiah NEVER Got an Invite...

Jordan's a True ASSHOLE who Never Forgets a Slight, but that's What Made him GREAT...Surely, You've Heard about him Getting Cut from the Varsity Squad, his Sophomore Year???...Well, @ his Hall of Fame Induction, Jordan Invited the Guy who Got Picked OVER Him that Year...Made Dude Stand Up & Everything, Just So he Could Say to the Coach (25-30 YEARS Later) "You Made a Mistake"...

All the Poor Guy Could Do was Smile Uncomfortably & Sit Back Down...

Loooooooooooooong Story Short, Michael Jordan was Straight Up RUTHLESS, but Again, it MADE him WHO he Is...LeBron James SEVERLY LACKS the Level of Sheer KILLER INSTINCT that Jordan Had...By SEVERAL Miles...

REED Thinks the DEPTH of the Western Conference will Be the Spurs Undoing, ESPECIALLY if they LACK Home Court Advantage Throughout the Playoffs...

It's DOUBTFUL they Could Avoid Bumping Heads w/Memphis or the Mavs, 2 Teams they've NEVER Matched Up Terribly Well w/...Not to Mention the Clippers, Warriors, OKC, Rockets, etc...

The Spurs will Need to Be No Worse than a 3 Seed, to Have a LEGITIMATE Shot @ Repeating, in REED's Opinion...But to Do That, Pop's Gonna have to Stop DNP'ing his Best Guys, Which Could Obviously HINDER their Performances Come Playoff Time...

Stuck Between a Rock & Hard Place, Basically...

Spurs have never been a team that wins back to back, instead every other year.

I imagine they'll pick it up in time for the playoffs and lock down a top 3 seed but with the way the Warriors, Blazers, Rockets, Grizzlies, and Mavs are playing, it's gonna be tough. Can't forget about the Clippers. I FULLY expect them to pick it up in the 2nd half of the season and establish themselves as one of the teams to beat in the post season.

Spurs will need a strong 2nd half of the season to set themselves up for the best possible chance of repeating a finals appearance.

Spurs only needed one game 7 in last years Championship run, so I dont think its a huge priority for them.

With the way the West is stacked, it wont matter if you finish 1st through 4th, because either way youll be playing a good opponent. There wont be any gimmies.

The Spurs schedule has been ridiculous for the past fortnight. I dont think Pop would be overly concerned with his sides record.

If their main guys are injury free and Mills comes back at the same level he left, Id still favour them over any one in the West.

What You're FORGETTING Is, Game 7 Was the 1st Round of the 2014 Playoffs, w/Homecourt Advantage vs. an 8th Seed...

AND, the Spurs NEVER had to Face Memphis, who ELIMINATED Them from the Playoffs, Not Sooooooooo Loooooooong Ago...

If You Think Pop is COOL w/How the Spurs have Been Playing & Will Continue to Sacrifice Wins/Playoff Positioning for REST, You're Crazy...

With Tony Parker sitting out, you;d assume Pop would want Mills back in asap. Not the case.

"SAN ANTONIO – Spurs guard Patty Millswho injured his shoulder in the offseason and was expected to return in 2015 – was quietly cleared two days ago.“I’m not going to let him play,” San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich said.
    Huh?
“I’m going to hold him off as long as I can,” Popovich said. “There will be a point where he won’t allow me to do that anymore, and that’s fine. But for right now, I’m winning the battle. At some point, I’ll lose it.”

Are You Also GUARANfuckingTEEING Another CHAMPIONSHIP Level Run from the Spurs, Because REED & their Resident Fans Sure AREN'T...

Again, they're Currently a 7th Seed, Dude...Typically, Pop Rests Guys & the Team MAINTAINS a Lofty Position...NOT This Season, as they've LOST Ground...Pop's Gonna Have to PLAY Meaningful Guys Sooooooner, Rather than Later OR Run the Risk of DROPPING from the Low Seed they Already Are...

Spurs have never won back-to-back, and no reason to think they'll do it now.

At this particular moment, I'd make Memphis the betting favorite to come out the west this year. But, we'll see.

Much needed win for the Spurs tonight against a Rockets team that has played immense so far this season. Their bench came through. Clutch performance by Danny Green and solid games from Ginobli, Joseph, and Duncan. Pop rested Parker and Kawhai Leonard is still injured.

But momentum must be built off this because the west is more competitive than ever. I don't think any of these guys can be seen as a "gimmie" for the other come playoff time, IF they are all still playing like this by then.

Smith with his usual non efficient game. I dunno why McHale is starting him when Motiejunas has been playing so well.

Still only a few games, but Rondo definitely looks good in Dallas. I can admit when I'm wrong. He played excellent D on Westbrook tonight.

i think its hard to knock the spurs when leonard has been out most of the year. he's clearly if not their most valuable player then tied for top 3

Yeah Wade always gets up for playing against Bron it was one of the reasons I didn't want them to team up because they used to have some of the best on court battles back when Wade was still great. At the end of the game though I thought it was Wade who was being overly affectionate. He embraced Bron so hard that Bron for a split second seemed to have a kind of uncomfortable look on his face. It was kind of embarrassing just watching it.

It's time for your Thunder Report:

My team is looking good but Jackson is starting to turn into a black hole. I get that he's playing for a possible low to mid max contract but dude needs to stop hogging the ball so much. I freaking love Anthony Morrow just because he's a gazillion miles more reliable than Sefolosha ever was. Morrow hits his threes he can handle pass and even get his own shot on occasion. Jeremy Lamb is still playing horrendous. Every time he shoots I expect him to miss and lately he's done just that. The dude is just a horrible shooter and he actually has more success attacking the basket even though he's just average at that. I like Roberson too even though I looks like he isn't putting the time in to work on his outside shooting but the one guy I really root for is Perry Jones. I don't know why but I keep wanting that guy to blow up.

No he didn't, Westbrook was getting by Rondo at will. If anything it was Dallas' clogged lane and Westbrook just having an all around bad game, but no one person on the team could take credit for Westbrook having such a bad game. Rus was just rushing things way too much and was basically playing frustrated the whole game. There were a lot of sequences in that Dallas game that showed selfishness and falling apart when things aren't going the Thunders way, and they just don't look patient enough to be champions right now. Hopefully they can learn that and will look better when Durant comes back...again.

If my team was in the finals, and I had to pick a star to lead them to the ring, either prime Lebron or prime Wade, I'd pick prime Wade without hesitation.

    Agreed

Having lived in Miami throughout Wade's prime years I don't have any argument when people say that Wade is the third best shooting guard of all time. Dude was a freakin beast on both sides of the ball in his prime. His only problem was that he lost a few of his prime years with bad injuries, but he was still doing his thing. People also forget that Wade was the best player of the "Redeem Team" in the 08 Olympics following a year were he was mostly injuried. He's also undersized for a two guard whick makes it more impressive. I've always been a huge Wade fan, he's definitely a top 30 player of all-time.

Wade is without question the third best sg of all time. And the gap between him and Kobe is A LOT smaller than the gap between Kobe and Mike. Prime Wade and prime Kobe were roughly on the same level. I feel Kobe was a bit better because he had a more complete offense arsenal, but the gap is pretty small.

Whereas Mike was several levels better than both of them.

IMO Wade's peak was better than Kobe's. Wade was a monster between 2006-2009.

Lebron is a pussy. He's sitting during important games. It wouldn't surprise me if the injuries were faked. He's not being the leader he said he would be, he's been passive and disinterested.

Sadly, this indeed does make Lebron look like the front runner he's been accused of being.

He quit on Cleveland once, and he arguably quit on Miami after getting spanked by San Antonio. Now with the latest coming out with him "not happy" and complaining, the talk of him leaving Cleveland again..

So what becomes of Lebron's legacy if he were to pull such a move?

Still Waaaaaaaaaaay Toooooooo Early to PANIC, but @ the Same Time, There Should be SIGNS of the Cavs Beginning to GEL...But Clearly, we're NOT Seeing Them as of Yet...

REED Harkens Back to the Off Season, when the Media Repeatedly Ranted & Raved About the "Offensive Mastermind" David Blatt...Sorry, but there's Been NO Traces of That, Thus Faaaaaaaaaaaar...He Very Much LOOKS, TALKS & BEHAVES Like a Guy that's In Waaaaaaaaaaaay OVER his Head...

Writers & TV Personalities Shrugged Off Blatt's LACK of NBA Experience w/Talk of How Many Euro League Championships he's Won...REED Literally LOL'ed Whenever he'd Hear that Shit, Which was A LOT...

Before the Season Gets AWAY from Them, the Cavs Should @ Least ENTERTAIN the Idea of a New Coach...A Guy like Mark Jackson Would Be a NICE Fit for them, in REED's Opinion...

There's a 0% Chance of Bron BAILING On Cleveland Again...

The Media Would CRUCIFY Him...He'd NEVER Be Welcomed Back Again, EVER...Multiply the Backlash from the "Decision" by 100, & That's What Bron Would Get...

Having Said That, there's NOfuckingGUARANTEE Kevin Love Doesn't Bail...He'll Be an Unrestricted Free Agent After this Season...Granted, Cleveland Owns his Bird Rights & Could Therefore Pay MORE than Anybody Else, for his Services...But the Pressure is Definitely MOUNTING...

If the Cavs Don't Go Deeeeeeeeeeeep Into the Playoffs (Eastern Conference Finals @ a BARE MINIMUM), they'll Rightfully Be Looked @ as an EPIC Failure...

Love May Want to Play Elsewhere...
