REED Doesn't See it This Way @ All... Again, Durant is a 6'11-7ft PERIMETER PLAYER Neil...He Rains 3's and that's about It, Something Golden State is ALREADY Quite Proficient @...Based on Klay Thompson's Existence ALONE (Not to Mention Golden State ALREADY has a Championship), Durant's an ILL Fit...What EXACTLY Do they Do w/Thompson if they Sign Durant???...We ALREADY Know Klay's Game MESHES w/Steph's, but REED Can't See That Being an EASY Merge with Durant... The Warrior's are Steph Curry's Team, PERIOD...So If Durant was EVER the Least Bit Put Off by Sharing Alpha Dog Status w/Westbrook (Which has Admittedly NEVER Been Confirmed), How is he Going to Digest that Role w/Steph???.... For Golden State to REALISTICALLY Acquire Durant, they'll Likely have to Part Ways w/Iguodala AND Harrison Barnes Too, Along with Thompson...And Right There, You've Fucked w/the FABRIC of a Championship Roster... And w/Those 3 GONE, that Puts a LOT of Pressure on Durant to DEFEND 2-Guards, Small Forwards, etc...Something he ISN'T Terribly Fond Of... To Top if All Off, the Warriors Are Basically "Unbeatable" as Currently Constructed...51-5 Speaks for Itself, Dog...Durant to the Clippers is a Good Fit...Durant to the Wizards is Another...REED Would Actually Like to See him REMAIN in OKC Though... But Durant in Golden State ISN'T a Good Fit @ All, in REED's Opinion... You CAN'T Just Throw Superstar Players Together;Guys HAVE to Play their ROLES...LAST Thing Golden State Needs is a 6'1-7ft PERIMETER PLAYER, Dog... REED:mj:
REED Honestly Thinks if Durant Played in the Post Some, Just SOME, Or Even Shot Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeep CORNER 3's, Westbrook Would Defer to Him More...Kinda Hard for the PG to Defer Though, When Durant Spends 95% of his Court Time Near the Top of the Key or the Wing, Looking for 3's... REED:mj:
from what Ive read they wouldnt need to get rid of thompson to get durant. they'd let barnes walk and trade igoudala. you guys are selling durant short. he'd fit in great and the team would be even better a core of curry, thompson, durant and green is not losing the way the league is currently constructed
Durant's TALLER (& BETTER, Obviously), but what he Does for OKC Ain't Really All that Different from what Thompson Does for Golden State, Dog...Not in Terms of Where they're COMFORTABLE and PRODUCTIVE on the Floor... Barnes and Iguodala Get their Hands Dirty, Down Low, MUCH More than Durant Does, On Both Ends of the Floor...They Both Occasionally Display a Back to the Basket Game Too (They AIN'T 6'11 Either), Which ALLOWS for Draymon Green to STRAY from the Basket More than Traditional "Bigs"...Unquestionably, G-State's a PERIMETER Squad, but SOMEBODY has To Get Shit Done in the Paint Too, on EVERY Team... We'll See How it Plays Out, but THE Last Thing Golden State Needs, is a 6-11 GUARD/WING, in REED's Opinion...Especially if they LOSE Barnes/Iguodala in the Process... REED:hammert:
They will lose barnes anyhow. I get what you're saying but igoudala and barnes are still mostly perimeter guys. The league is perimeter oriented. Durant will space the floor even more than those two. He will end up getting the wide open looks those guys consistently get off curry and green
Curry goes 20/27 from the field. Oh, and fuck that flopping asshole Harden. Lillard getting dicked by the refs trying to guard him.
Get even BETTER? Bruh.... they're 52-5. 52...... and 5. What do you think their record would be with KD? 55-2?? Shit doesn't always work that way. You don't necessarily need TWO superstars to make an amazing team. The Warriors have ONE superstar, two all stars, and a bunch of excellent role players. That's really all it takes.
theyre playing great, but it wouldnt shock me if they lose in the playoffs to san antonio or cleveland. bottom line here is durant knows how to play. you add him to the mix and they aint gettin worse. its easy to play with guys who are deadly shooters. golden state knows how to move the ball and durant does as well. if he were on golden state he'd get the most open shots he's had since the mcDonalds all american game. make no mistake, Im not advocating signing him a the expense of thompson. but if it comes down to getting him in exchange for igoudala its a no brainer
They're Mostly Perimeter Guys that Play in the Post MORE than Durant Does...w/Out Those 2, Now You're Asking Draymon Green to Spend Even MORE Time Down Low, Which he Really CAN'T Afford, Being an UNDERSIZED "Big"...That Minimizes His All-Around Impact... Durant Would HAVE to Add New Wrinkles to his Game, to Make it Work, Dog...Sure, the Game Has Become More Perimeter Oriented, but it will ALWAYS Be Easier and More Efficient to Score in the Post...That's Why Guys like Jordan, Kobe, Dirk, LeBron, etc., Implemented More and MORE of it, as their Careers Progressed... If Durant Isn't DUNKING the Ball Off the Dribble, he Literally Does NATHAN ELSE in the Paint, Period...That's UNACCEPTABLE for a 6'11 Motherfucker & That HAS to Change for Him to Make a Positive Impact on G-State...Unless you REALLY Think they Can Win by Becoming Even MORE Perimeter Oriented than they Already Are???::... Post Play STILL Matters and Most of the All-Time Greats (Non PG's, Obviously) Develop @ Least a SEMBLANCE of a Post Game, Before it's All Said and Done... REED:hammert:
call durant what you want but he gets to the line almost 7 times a game which is among the league leaders. i doubt golden state will get him because im skeptical whether durant would want to go there. but if he does, and they do get him, they'll be even better than now. he plays at the mid post at times and drives to the basket enough for me. he shoots over 50%. do you think he's gonna all of a sudden shoot 60% if he hangs out on the block shooting fade aways?
I read a story about the original Dream Team the other day btw. I am not sure if this is common knowledge but I hadn't heard it before. They had a scrimmage game right before the Olympics. The team was divided into East (Bird, Jordan, Pippen, Ewing, Mullin and Laettner) and the West (Magic, Drexler, Robinson, Malone, Barkley). According to all sources they actually went at it seriously, despite the pleads of Daly. Can you guess which side won?
Not only did that scrimmage happen but there is a video of it out there somewhere and I've been unsuccessfully trying to find it. There is a really good book recently done about that Dream Team where the author watches the video and asks some of the players about it.
Thunder really should have won that game. They did a lot better then I would have thought and Durant has rarely shot that consistently good all season. On top of that I was surprised at the overtime quarter. I expected the Thunder to come out nervous and tight in overtime but they seemed confident and almost pissed while it seemed to me that the Warriors looked tight and a little unsure in overtime up until when Durant fouled out. Anyway, missed opportunity for the Thunder due to a couple screw ups down the stretch.
It's ridiculous really. 12/16 from 3 point land, and he's not even near the arc when he launches most of them. He does it creating his own shot most of the time to. Mind-boggling.
My feelings exactly. I have never seen shooting like that. OKC had the game in the bank as Durant was in command and Westbrook supported well. Thompson couldn't hit anything and the rest of GS was pretty weak too, Curry had to do it all by himself. And boy he did
Who does this??? http://youtu.be/uC0VY3EeBnA Nobody in the history of the NBA would do this. Pulled up off the dribble for a 38 footer like it was a regular mid range jumper. Unbelievable. And he regularly practices this shot before games so it wasn't luck.
Lillard is quietly having a top 5 MVP caliber season. Shit, he should be higher on MVP voting than Lebron this year.
Are you surprised or something? Thompson is an excellent complementary piece, but he isn't good enough to be "the man" without Curry. It's a testament to how awesome Steph is. With him, they're a historically great team. Without him, they'd probably be like the 6th or 7th seed in the West.
you got some people claiming green is the warriors MVP, which is bullshit. take green off the team and they win more games than if you take curry off the team.
Saying Green is more valuable to the 2016 Warriors than Curry is the exact same thing as saying Rodman is more valuable to the 96 Bulls than Mike.
Draymon Green's Skillset Works BECAUSE of the Team he's On, NOT the Other Way Around... Put Just about ANY All Star Caliber Player on ANY Other Team & They're the SAME Guy...Not Sooooooooooo Much w/Draymon Green, Who's BENEFITTING from Playing the Opposing POST Players, 9 Times Out of 10... REED:hammert:
Tough Loss for OKC, Choking Away a 20+ Point Lead to the Clippers Last Night...Their Reward? A RE w/Golden State Tonight, Who they Choked Away a Lead To, Last Week... REEDff:
