So when golden state inevitably wins a title and Durant is finals mvp, Reed will claim he didn't try hard enough to win in OKC. I already see it coming

One of the worst decisions OKC made was their decision after training camp to keep Christon over Ronnie Price for back up point guard even though Price had a 5 million dollar guaranteed contract. OKC decided to just eat that 5 mil so they could keep Christon instead and whoever made that decision should be fired. Not only did they waste 5 million but Christon is giving us absolutely nothing and has been beyond attrocious. Can't wait til we get Payne back.

This is exactly right REED. If I could upvote your post I would. Another thing I've noticed about Durant is how much better he's playing in GS. He actually seems to hit way more threes and it drives me crazy. I actually think the reason he's playing so much better is because the pressure there is so much lighter. He isn't exactly the man there even though he's taken nearly all of the attention from Curry.

By the way I don't care what Curry says, I know he regrets Durant joining GS. Imagine being Curry last season where he was getting close to Michael Jordan levels of fame, love and respect from the fans, the league and his peers. Now Curry has nearly become an after thought who nobody even mentions anymore because they mention Durant. Imagine going from Michael Jordan to being just another allstar. Maybe some of it has to do with losing the Championship, but a lot more has to do with Durant coming in and stealing Curry's Thunder. (pun intended)

I doubt Russ will win MVP over Harden. I just think the media is going to take OKC's record to much into account and compare it to Houston's which should be better. Usually the MVP comes from a 2 seed team or better so who knows maybe it'll be Lebron again or possibly even Durant. Between Westbrook and Harden though, I think politics will push Harden over Westbrook.

I've never met or seen online an actual "lover" or fan of Harden. His game is ugly and his personality is arrogant and weird.

BUT, you don't have to love him to make an MVP case for him. If you notice, the media is pretty split right now on the MVP debate... if you think EVERY SINGLE ONE making a case for Harden is a Harden "lover", you're just being unobjective.

BOTH have a legit case at MVP... I just happen to think that despite Westbrook's gaudier stats, that Harden is having a bigger impact and hence is teaming is winning more.

Of course you're gonna come back with the "He has a much better supporting cast" argument, but the truth.... take away Harden and they don't make the playoffs. Eric Gordon would be their best player without Harden, and although he's a decent player, there's NO team that's making the playoffs with Eric freakin Gordon as their best player.

This season, James Harden's the most VALUABLE player to his team.

It's gonna either be Harden, Westbrook, or Lebron. Those are the ONLY three players in the running.

Durant won't win it because the bad taste he's left in so many people's mouths for ring chasing. Curry's not having a season on par with his previous two seasons, and no player since Bird has won three consecutive MVP's anyway, so he's out of the running as well.

Then you have Kawhi Leonard, who's having a very SOLID season, but damn sure not the kind of season Harden and Westbrook are having.

Harden with the quadruple double the other night.

Again, guess who on his own team had the superior +/- stats to "he who makes everyone around him better"?

Houston is winning more games then usual because of a superior bench. Not because Harden is throwing 10 passes into the stands per game.

Paul had a chance at the MVP until the god damn hamstring injury sabotaged the Clips record, now i think in my mind it's Harden's to lose. Westbrook could win it if OKC gets 50+ wins, but man they look pathetic whenever he hits the bench.

Stat geeks love Chris Paul, but the man simply can't dominate an offense the way Harden and Westbrook can. Never in history has there been a star who gets excused of criticism the way Paul does. Whenever he team is successful, it's all him. Whenever they fail to advance past the 2nd round, which has been always, excuses are made and Paul never takes any heat.

CP3 had ONE legit MVP run, in 08 when he was runner up to Kobe.

No. But the difference is, Westbrook makes OKC a lower seeded playoff team.

Harden makes Houston a top tier playoff team.

I'm not sure that if Harden and Westbrook trade places that Houston is as good.

In the truest sense of the word, Lebron remains the most "valuable" player in the league. Kyrie and Love are losers and without Lebron they'd go nowhere.

That's BECAUSE of the Personnel on Each Team, Bruh...

Give Westbrook Another SCORER Like Eric Gordon and a Certified SHOOTER like Ryan Anderson, and the Rockets are Doing SIMILAR, if Not BETTER...

They'd make the playoffs, but they certainly wouldn't be battling with the Spurs for the second seed in the west.

Harden has a higher basketball IQ than Westbrook, sorry REED but it's true.

What system is that? Tripping through the lane and then throwing the ball into the stands to get the ref to call a foul?

There comes a point where you overrate Westbrook, whereas I think the rest of us are looking at him pretty fairly.

His style of play and his abilities aren't really conducive for building a championship contending team around him.

One reason for that is because he's soooooooo much in transition than he is at executing in the half court, and come playoff teams clamp down defensively and Russ won't be as devastating.

You're not the only one though. I recently had a debate with one of my boys cause I said Westbrook ain't on the level as a prime Wade. He tried to argue that Russ is currently better, but I don't see the rationale behind that.

d'antoni's system that is being run by harden and was run by nash. westbrook wouldnt be nearly as effective because he just isnt a consistent shooter and therefore not nearly as dangerous a pick and roll player. teams go under the screen when he has the ball and do not honor the threat of him hitting shots

Hey, Like Xplosive Said, Harden Has the 'Higher Basketball IQ', ie., he's MUCH More Interested in BAITING the Refs into Bullshit Calls, as Opposed to Simply PLAYING the Fucking Game...

He also doesn't have the court vision of Harden/Nash. It might appear so because of his assist numbers, but Westbrook ain't exactly Magic Johnson as a passer.

No, I mean Harden just understands the game better than Russ and does a better job at reading the defense and facilitating the offense.

Make no mistake, Westbrook's insane athleticism will ALWAYS be his biggest weapon.

Once that declines in a few years, you'll see how hard he falls off. He won't be a bum, but he won't be a star anymore either.

It boggles my mind how a guy who hates contact so much, gets so many calls from the refs. You'd think he was Karl Malone banging in the paint with the big guys all the time. He plays like a fucking butterfly with a broken wing.

Maybe Westbrook whines so much because HE plays like a 6 foot 3 inch bowling ball every game, and gets the same amount of calls as that delicate flower over on the Rockets.
