I can't believe some people that say Draymond should make the HOF. He hasn't averaged a double double in years.

Had they squared up? Do you think he was expecting a punch given the venue?

Hitting someone on your team in an environment where it’s unexpected and he has his hands down is cowardly to me.

Is this really a semantic argument? Fine remove the word sucker punch if it bothers you.

He walked up to a guy on his team in a work venue, got in his face and then punched his unsuspecting teammate. I don't know enough about Green to speak to his character but that was a cowardly act.

Who knows what was said prior to the punch? I think it was an impulsive and stupid act more so than cowardly.

you want to see cowardly look what abdul jabbar did to kent benson in a game. THAT is what i consider a sucker punch, not green being face to face and knocking a guy out who just put hands on him.

this is a violent world and most conflicts are resolved with physical force, particularly in competitive sports. Ive seen dozens of fights and been involved in a few over the years of playing basketball in leagues and pickup games. shit happens, people talk shit.

They aren't teens and it's in the workplace.

EDIT - I'll remove that bit. Not necessary.

    teens :Jest:

fights happen all the time at parks/gyms around the country here. grown men fighting. maybe its different where youre at?

so if this happened in a pickup game at some random facility instead of the teams practice, it would be less cowardly and sucker punchish?

You’ve been here for ages so at best you are late thirties. If you think this stuff is ok anywhere then you need to grow up.

I stated my opinion: it was a cowardly punch to someone not expecting it. I consider it a sucker punch.

I agree. Particularly the part where this is supposed to be his teammate, so to compare it to some pickup game in the park is off base. Word is they were talking smack during practice and it escalated. Green is definitely an emotional guy and wears it on his sleeve. We’ve seen him go at Durant a couple times and even have shouting matches with coach Steve Kerr.

My guess is Poole stood up to Green’s smack talk by giving it back to him and Green is either not used to that or for whatever reason, didn’t take kindly to it from Poole in particular. At any rate, to superman punch a smaller teammate like that because he pushed you is ridiculous. Green initiated the confrontation by getting in Poole’s face, so obviously Green is the one who couldn’t handle the smack talking.

So now Green has decided to take some time away from the team. Whether that was his call or the team suspending him on the low low is unknown. Either way, he needs to get control of his emotions. It is well known that Green’s emotions are what make him the force of nature he can occasionally be, but moving forward, maybe he can try to direct it at his own teammates a lot less.

I'm starting to think in my mind Draymond also hit KD with the Wilder windmill in practice which is what led him to leave Golden State

Maybe. He's under contract for 2 more seasons. So eligible for an extension after next season, in most cases. Does his production justify a big money extension? Not to me, at this point. For 15 or even 20 mill he's a legit piece to a team. For 40? Naw

I agree. I think GS believe he’s outlived his usefulness and this is a painless way to move him on.

Is this Wenbayama guy that good? Calling him the best prospect of all time is a little dramatic given some of the pre-NBA hype of guys like Shaq and Lecon.
