It was an ugly win over a God awful Jets team, but a win is a win. There's a logjam of 7-5 teams in the AFC fighting for a wildcard spot, but if the season ended today, Miami would be in the playoffs. Next week's game against the Ravens is for all intents and purposes, an elimination game, as the loser would have pretty much no chance of a playoff berth.

Remember when Miami went 1-15? What team did they beat?

Remember when Miami went 11-5 under Chadwick Pennington? What wildcard team traveled to Miami and thumped the Fins?

    The Fucking Ravens.

Broncos and Jets were able to run all over the Fins the last two weeks. Baltimore is going to try to do the same.

its funny, the bears got whipped by dallas and padded their stats offensively in garbage time again as theyve done a few times this year. jay feely playing his first game for chicago was able to have a successful on side kick. gould hasnt done that shit in his entire career.

I have to take issue with this statement. Every time I see Rivers play it appears he thinks it's a game of "500".

AFC playoff picture is crazy. 12 teams above .500 fighting for six spots.

    The Must Win Club:

    Chiefs 7-6
    Bills 7-6
    Dolphins 7-6
    Browns 7-6
    Texans 7-6

The Anaheim Rams got eliminated in the worst game of the season.

Even if you like defense, that was an awful game. The Rams offense did a great job going backwards.

The NFC is Soooooooooooooo STACKED, there's a Very REAL Chance an 11-5 Squad MISSES the Playoffs...

Arizona 11-3, Green Bay 10-3, Seattle, Detroit, Philadelphia & "America's Team", YOUR Dallas Cowboys, All 9-3, w/3 Weeks of Football Remaining...Meanwhile, Atlanta & New Orleans Both Sit 5-8, w/One of them Being GUARANfuckingTEED a Playoff Berth...

One or Two 10-6 Teams have MISSED the Playoffs in the Past, But 11-5 Would Be UNPRECEDENTED...& SHAMEFUL...If that Occurs, the NFL Needs to Grant Playoff Spots to the Best 6 RECORDS Per Conference, Moving Forward...Maybe Use Division Championships as a Tie-Breaker, or Something...

On that Note, the LOSER of Tonight's Cowboys-Eagles Game Could Conceivably Be the 11-5 NON Playoff Team...

A guy on ESPN said it best. You can host a playoff game and still have a top 10 pick in next year's draft.

    WOW!!!...

REED was Unaware of That...The Mere Fact there's a CHANCE This Could Happen, is All the More Reason to Revise the System...Beginning Next Season, Top 6 Records (Per Conference) Advance to the Playoffs, Division Winner Becomes a Tie-Breaker...

    Seems FAIR...

They Certainly DIDN'T Do Themselves Any Favors...

Now, Green Bay's Pretty Much Taken Themselves OUT of Contention to Have Homefield Throughout the Playoffs...Arizona No Doubt Appreciates It, Sitting Pretty @ 12-3 Now, After Beating St. Louis...Meanwhile, The Dallas-Philly Winner AND Detroit Could Join Green Bay @ 10-4...

The ABSURDITY of the NFC Souf' Division Winner Being GIFTED a Playoff Berth, ROYALLY Fucks a Pretty Good Football Team...Especially In the Cases of "America's Team", YOUR Dallas Cowboys & Detroit, who Actually BEAT New Orleans (Currently "First Place", Since Atlanta Lost to PISSburg Earlier Today)...

Chargers got in at 8-8. Rest of teams were pretty stacked.

Your favorite franchise, the Seahawks, actually made the playoffs at 7-9 several years ago, and ended up beating the 11-5 Saints in the Playoffs, mostly on the strength of getting home field advantage.

So, throughout the entire history of the NFL, because of something that has happened once, and has a possibility of happening again, we should change the entire way playoff teams are selected?

    Overreact much?

I like the system the way it is. You have the Seahawks getting in at 7-9 and beating the Saints in Seattle.

You have my Broncos getting in at 8-8 (with Timmy Tebow) and beating the #1 defense in the NFL, The Steelers, in OT in Denver.

First goal of every NFL squad should be to WIN THEIR DIVISION. Then focus on things like homefield advantage for the playoffs.

Some teams are going to be 10-6 or even 11-5 and miss the plyoffs. Oh well. It happens.

Speaking of winning the division that's FOUR STRAIGHT AFC West titles since that disastrous 4-12 season in 2010.

I think the Panthers are technically in first place at 5-8-1 until the Saints play. A tie is supposed to be divided in two and added to theW and L columns. That should give them percentage points over the Saints. It won't matter once the game is played.

Part of the travesty of the system, is those teams getting home games with .500 or below records.

Fine, let them in if they win their shitty division. No way they should ever get a home field advantage though.

Well, luckily the NFL has a bunch of other unneeded, retarded rule changes they're thinking about (getting rid of kickoffs, shortening the distance between goalposts, etc) before they'd even consider that unneeded, retarded rule change.
