As I said...it's only precise if I am right.

I could have said 1014 and one-half punches and that's not precise unless I am correct.

If I am incorrect, and the correct answer was 1012 and one-quarter punches then it's imprecise.

Sure...its a very specific number. I just happen to remember somebody saying he threw 80.2 shots per round. After that it's plain maths, baby.

It was also a lot more specific.

good it's being shown, but what is the bullshit fascination with trying to develop ESPN3.com??
Maybe someday everyone will have perfect streaming web through their 70" OLED screens and it will make sense. But I don't see the point of giving everyone a less than perfect experience and expecting it to help sell your product. All it's going to do is turn off a lot of people.

This fight should have been in the States, preferably Miami, Orlando, just not Shermanny.

Agreed, watching the Vitali-Briggs fight on ESPN3 was painful.

Turkish Cyprus has a straw, it reaches all the way across Europe,.. Haye drinks it, he drinks it up.

Ordinarily, the joke begins with a german queen.

I don't know, I like watching fights on ESPN3.com. It's certainly better than 95% of the streams that pop-up on fight night. I even watched the rest of FNF on ESPN3.com when it came time to switch over to Telefutura.

Anyway, I give Solis a better chance than most do. Not saying I'm picking him outright, but believe he will at least cover the spread (and no, I don't mean the buffet)

ESPN3 is just how they're showing it live, usually because Saturday's are when ESPN is showing college sports (football or basketball)...I have no problem waiting a day for the ESPN replay.

I often agree with Jake, but Solis is basocally awful.

He's going to get the Arreola treatment. He'll probably get stopped though, he has almost no chance at all of winning.

Yeah, I'm of a similar opinion.

This is the most interesting fight of Vitali's comeback, IMO.

    By far.

    But that's saying FUCK. ALL.

It would be a very interesting fight if Solis was 220lb.

The most "interesting" fight of his comeback was his comeback fight against Peter. Its amazing how many people suddenly decide that they always had him booked as a clear favourite in that fight.

I think Solis is much better than Arreola, even when Chris is in shape. Solis can definitely stand to lose a couple of chins and rolls, but is easily the most skilled fighter Vitali will have faced since his ring return - in fact, since Lennox.

Not to me. Vitali had to be the clear favorite in that fight, but then that's because I saw how poorly Peter looked against Maskaev and figured he must've decided he was too light for that fight.

Or did you like what you saw of Peter against McCline?

Oh, let me roll my eyes so you can see how much of a douche I am.

Wow, I was actually getting ready to argue that he was a clear favorite. But looking back at our (B-Scene) staff predictions, I can't believe how many people picked Peter to win.

For what it's worth, here was my take on it:
    http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=16346
"Vitali Klitschko by technical knockout in eight. Many are banking on Vitali's four-year absence to be the major factor in Peter emerging victorious. Anything short of Vitali pulling up lame between now and fight night will make that a non-issue once the opening bell sounds. Klitschko takes a round or so to get going, before taking over and eventually breaking down Peter."

Solis is definitely the best opponent since he came back...if he can put away Solis and one or two other young contenders, it will be an impressive career

I think that was pretty much my view on the fight.

That if Vitali wasn't physically unable to perform, he was going to beat Peter...and that while his health and fitness were question marks, If he was going through with the fight, he must believe he's fit enough...otherwise, it'd end up like the Rahman fight.

Solis belongs in that class of fighters who could truly be defined as HEAVY handed. Marciano, JC Chavez, Foreman, Vitali himself- mallet swingers. He will hurt whatever he hits. Will he reach Vitali? Who knows. For sure Vitali has slowed down but that seems to have bothered him more in hitting other people than avoiding being hit. He's not as quick fisted as he was but he's still 6'8" and when he leans back, damn near unreachable.

Solis will have the Ammy pedigree to figure something out. He's too experienced to not at least have 1 chance in the fight.

I wouldnt place too much stock on his defeat of Haye, as with Haye, he simply beat Haye the way Haye will always be beaten: by taking his best shots and walking him down, and waiting for him to macaroni his pants.

The press are unlikely to give a fuck, we will have Bert Sugars sitting their with his unlit camel telling us about the size of Savon's pecs and that Solis is just a fat Cuban who fights for money. Sure.

Dude is like Povetkin- he is heavy handed and knows how to go about his business.

But all bets are off if he comes in really heavy. That could be Peter vs Vitali all over again.

    Knowamsayin?

Vitali looks to be getting slower each fight,.. however, I still think this may be easier than his one against Juan Carlos Gomez,... Solis looked like shit against that glass chinned scrub Julius Long back when he was in better shape,.. he even looked discouraged to engage,.. This will probably be awkward early,.. and then it'll get easier and easier. Solis will badly need to go to the body,.. but when he does, he'll be swiped up the face with those strange sweeping hookercuts Vitali throws,..

With any luck that's what I will be hoping to see.

Is Solis better than Chris Arreola? Yes, by a mile.

Is 260lb Solis any better than 250lb Chris Arreola? No. Not at all.

Arreola came into the Vitali fight as good as he could have hoped to have been, bar the weight.

He had home support, never took any real punishment, was very fresh and took huge support and encouragement from the home crowd in LA. And he still took a beating.

Solis isn't going to be any more popular in Germany than Vitali and it seems will spend much of his training camp just dropping weight rather than training as such.
