Giving Ben Dirs at the BBC some credit, he bemoaned it as much as he was allowed to. Joshua is a massive lump, who....moves like a massive lump.

Ukrainian. The loser actually bore it with some grace all things considered.
Could see Ogogo claiming a medal, even though he's really pretty average, he's lively and has spirit, but that's about it. Joshua isn't much, no gold for British at super HW - that should go to the bald Vitali clone (dyschko?).

Why the fuck did I think he was Cuban? I think my mind has turned to mush :scratcher: Agreed on the grace, especially after Ogogo celebrated his gift by leaping about four foot in the air and yelping like a berk (I did remember that right, I hope).

I really liked Dychko, but the top seed, Mahommedrasul Majidov, beat him 16-9 at the 2011 worlds and is probably the favorite.

I saw the Gogo fight. Actually pretty similar to the Joshua fight.

Close-ish 2 rounds, then the Brit gets the crap beaten out of him in the 3rd round.

God I hate robberies. Sickening really.

    Has Lomachenko fought yet?

Shit, I can't believe I missed it, what time was it? Did the BBC show it?

Not surprised he looked that good, he was head and shoulders above everyone in 2008. I was really hoping he'd turn pro.

I am not sure he'd be all that good as a pro.

there's nothing amateur about the way lomachenko fights. not sure why he didn't turn pro after winning the gold in beijing. that dominican dude he beat today looked hard to beat. tall and lanky, kinda akin to celestine caballero.

How come? Guy looks like a little fighting machine, he looks more pro than almost any amateur I've ever seen.

Same here, it's bizarre that he didn't. Surely he got some great offers from promoters etc.

There too, Lomachenko landed several body shots but the scores remained very low

There's no question that body shots are not getting the same credit as a flush jab or a right cross.

The American Gausha was another who did not deserve to lose last night, and he put in some nice body shots

Warren is Gainer, Judah, Khan all roll into one amateur fighter...

He clearly has the skills to trash the other kid...but is he has a questionable heart, or is there is something off in his brain...

Dear USA, Please stop sending Raushee Warren to the Olympics. At this point, he looks like an old Meldrick Taylor, he's actually shot.

Incidentally, possibly the worst USA team sent to the Olympics?
Seriously, all of them seemed incapable of sustaining any form and closing out a 3 rd bout.

Edit - Z, you beat me to it.

coming off the worst showing previously in 2008, then just getting worse in 2012. this is indicative of the weakening talent pool in the modern USA. no one in this country cares about boxing
