That was a big thing backstage. Every HBO broadcast runs through her. Because of the nature of her job, she's tight with every fighter. She does whatever it takes to get away from the camera and is a bit anal about it. So Roy does the normal thing and pulls her on camera and kisses her straight on the lips on live TV. Not only was that interview funny, but he actually answered alot of questions and there was alot to be addressed. Probably the best interview you'll ever get.
Holy shit, I had never seen that Toney burger king thing, that was beyond belief. :: Jumping up and down like an excited kid shouting burger king :: ::
REED's Favorite Part of the Griffin II Post Fight Interview is Towards the End, when Merchant Compliments Roy & Roy Says, "...well Thank U, Larry...U Aight w/me Baby." If U Look CLOSELY, Roy Shakes Merchants Hand & Pats him On the Ass w/the Other Hand...Merchant even Slightly Moves when Roy Does it:: ... Roy's had a FEW Memorable Post-Fight Rants...The "60/40" Rant w/Bernard is Probably his BEST... REED
60/40 is very overrated. Anyone who isn't a Roy fan thought he just looked like a little punk arguing against another kid under the monkeybars. In this one, while being hillarious, he was actually very insightful in his answers.
Roy Made it CLEAR to Bernard what Contractual Split he Needed AND he Told Bernard his "Ass was Toast" & "I Kicks Yo Ass" if he Signed... Isn't that "Insightful" Enough??? REED::
The "60/40" Rant (Borrowed from Kevin Carter's Sig).... Hopkins: "I'm bigger than Bernard Hopkins but i don't want to fight him!" Jones: Didn't say I don't want to! Didn't say I don't want to! The right split and your ass is beat. Simple as that. The right split and your ass is toast. You know I don't give a damn about no fight! Hopkins: Talk is cheap, Roy... Jones: "Hey, I'm the light heavyweight champion of the world. You want to try me for my title. You want to try me for my title. 60/40 You get yo ass kicked! 60/40 you get yo ass tore up! 60/40 I kicks yo ass! 60/40 I kicks yo ass! 60/40 I kicks yo ASS!" REED:cheer:
:bears: that was great IMO.. and as I have come to appreciate Bernard over the years.. when this was going on.. Roy would have whupped him "AGAIN" without a doubt
Overall, Bernard has Proven to B a More INTERESTING Speaker than Roy, but N that Particular Exchange, Roy CLEARLY Got the Better of him... Bernard was Sitting there Saying "well Who I Am, Who I Am?", like he was RETARDED:: ... No Doubt Roy would have BEATEN Bernard @ that Point in Time...This was Minutes PRIOR to the Glen Kelley Fight...Roy Ended up Fighting Clinton Woods & Ruiz Afterwards... Bernard WOULDN'T have Beaten that Version of Roy:nono: ... REED
I'm somewhat of a Roy fan. As you probably know from all of my favourite fighters, Roy ISN'T the sort of fighter I usually like. I usually like the balls on the line, attacking warriors who fight non stop, fight anyone, and beat the shit out of people. With skill of course though, not bums like Marge. However, I dig speed, and power of course, and it's impossible not to be a fan of Roy's downright insane athleticism, but as a Roy fan I do think that 60/40 was overrated. I never quite got it, when people were going on about it being funny etc. Roy has been much more entertaining than that, like that first interview in this thread.
