yeah it's lovely. Proper mexican stylee. He has a very nice jab, too. But when he's at long range he shouldn't be in the position to throw that shot, IMO, he should angle off and make the right hand more of a threat. It'd help his get the other guys respect and keep range. He's too square

Watched the fight in full earlier. Scored it 8-4, Burns.

I was in a noisy pub with lots of distractions so i wasn't able to score it closely, but i felt like it was closer. There were large swathes of the fight where Burns just couldn't keep Katsidis off him. Got forced back to the ropes against his will again and again and again

Yup, but in favor of Burns when Katsidis got him to the ropes, many a time Burns would block his shots with his arms and gloves and didn't allow Katsidis to get through enough, but Kats did have some success when backing him to the ropes. Burns jab and circular movement helped him a great deal. If only Burns had more of a dig on him. He landed some lovely hooks to the body.

The problem was Katsidis didn't do a damned thing when Burns got close. He just stood there, throwing that broke-arm right to the body, hitting gloves most of the time. Burns would always be getting off a right uppercut off the ropes, and doing the generally cleaner work.

I did the RbR and I think I had it 8-3-1 or 9-2-1 or something like that.

    I think 8-4 is generous.

117-111 is 9-3, and thats what 2 of the cards were.

Fair enough. I'm usually the first to poo-poo 'ring generalship' as any sort of relevant variable, so I'll pipe down.

Whoever Ricky fights next I hope he does well again, a good shot in the arm for Scottish boxing.

He's a lovely lad as well, happy to talk to people and down to earth, not like half these idiots with huge egos nowadays.

Yup, he's great for the sport. Alot of folks have warmed to him over the years. I just had a feeling katsidis would be too much for him to handle. A different kettle of fish compared to the fighters Burns has fought before. I posted on another website how I thought Burns would win, but didn't pick him on here, fearing i'd be ridiculed for it.
