Yep... Oscar NEVER Went for BROKE,to MAKE Floyd "Fight" him More...NEVER Attempted to IMPOSE himself on Floyd... REED
huh? watch the fight again. ODH most certainly did. How did PBF react? By balling up against the ropes. Unfortunately, it takes two to tango, and that was why the fight was less than exciting.
oscar was getting schooled in the center of the ring. his futile attempts to maul floyd against the ropes were hardly exciting. if anything, it was a poor imitation of hatton at best.
And Oscar still beat him .... Some people talk shit about Oscar but according to one of the judges and many of the people who watched the fight , Oscar just beat the #1 p4p fighter. IMO you don't win a fight by not initiating any of the action , punches that fall 4 inches short of the target , punching the other guys gloves , stopping the fight action when it finally does happen.
even if Oscar won, it would've been hardly impressive beating a guy significantly smaller than him. if oscar really was that great, he should've knocked mayweather out.
If he was younger , he would have regardless. And even in the past fight , if Mayweather actually engaged instead of staying at a safe distance where he could only land on DLH's gloves, he would have.
i dont buy that horse crap. if he was younger, perhaps he would've taken more chance and got countered to death in the process. that's like saying roger mayweather would've beaten kostya tszyu if he were in his prime. i think roger in his prime would've actually fought instead of hugging all night and would've got KOed in a brutal fashion.
Countered to death ? :: Did you miss the 7 punch combo that PBF threw and DLH made him miss EVERY SINGLE punch ?? Are you somehow overlooking that ? PBF couldn't counter an old DLH . How the hell is he going to counter a younger DLH ... DLH's face looked exactly the same after the fight as it did before the fight. Thats cause Mayweather stayed far away and punched his gloves.
Hatton looked terrible against Collazo at 147. I thought he lost, in fact. Oscar is so washed up, Hatton would have a good shot at him, yeah.
wait. i'm trying to reconcile your statements here. on one hand, you say that Hatton looked terrible and that you thought he lost to Collazo. then you go on to say that he would have a good shot at ODH? so you're saying ODH looked worse in his last fight than Hatton did against Collazo? is that what you're saying? that despite how shitty and ineffective Hatton looked to be at 147, that he'd still have what it takes to beat a better fighter in ODH, at 154?
Basically by saying what he just did , he said in a round about way that Hatton could beat Mayweather.
Hatton isn't beating Floyd, not on this planet, anyway. For that matter, no one is beating Floyd anytime soon. You guys stick to making your own statements. Oscar is through, washed up. He failed to land on what on beloved "Compubox", 87 percent of his punches? Floyd handled him like a sparring partner and won 10 rounds on my card, and 10 on my friends who is a boxing coach and former fighter himself. I asked him, "What two rounds did you give to Oscar?" He replied..."I gave him two for showing up!"::
Brother Karl, I'm with you on Hatton isn't beating Floyd... as I thought no way was DLH.. BUT.. I dont think DLH is too far shot to beat HAtton at ALL! DLH only landed 87 punches cuz FLoyd is too slick and too quick! Hatton would be there all night.. he'd want to press the fight and he is the smaller guy. I think DLH eats him alive!
Hatton's better suited picking on people his own size, you can't move up with a style like his, running straight at bigger opponents and trying maul and brawl with them is a death wish. I mean we saw what happenned when Fraud decided to step forward for a little bit against Oscar De La Hoya in the 4th round,...one whack to the guts and whooooooaaaaaa!!!....Fraud leapt up like a bewildered stallion, arched backwards, holding himself tightly against the ropes, hiding behind his shoulder and sprinting away,....eeeeyyyaaaa...you can see Fraud's body shuddering "I'll never, ever do that again". Unless Hatton knows how to run, the little pugnacious troll, is getting a beatdown.
