That might not be such a bad thing. Most of it is pure shite. I cringe to think of how, back in the nether regions of Internet-Time, I used to read EVERYTHING I could find. I even subscribed to Maxboxing for $5 a month. All people need to follow boxing are: Youtube, good books on boxing, the older the better, and a website like this, maybe even a boxnation sub or something like that. There is no need to read Ring magazine. If you own toilet paper already, the purchase of Ring becomes a waste of time.
Having an understanding and buying in to PBF's bull-shit are two very different things. And this was my point from the beginning.
Pac will eventually stop Bradley, but its a very interesting fight. For once Pac is fighting somebody young, and prime.
Like Cotto? But yeah I pretty much agree, a young gun vs Pac will be more interesting than another old past prime dude....like JMM. Ah, who the hell knows.:kidcool:
Of course, it's far more interesting. Cotto is a great fighter, but unforunately it's one of the least interesting of the high level matches we HAVEN'T seen already, and that's because Cotto doesn't have the style to trouble Floyd much at all. How much of a chance do you give little Timmy?
it depends on how Timmy handles "the moment"... he's never been on a stage like this and that mental game is part of boxing, being able to deal with the glare of that spotlight, the "aura" of an elite fighter like Pacquaio (or Floyd for that matter) ... Technically, he has some things to work with, he's got solid speed, he's able to get a good workrate going, he's strong... I want to see how he deals defensively with Pacquiao and how he reacts to Manny's speed. I think he'll be competitive, but I'd be surprised if he has enough to win it. Bradley really works best when he can force the action, it will be interesting to see if he can deal with someone who takes the lead the way Manny does.
Coupled with being 5'7, having shortish arms, being slower, and overly patient. As good as he is, he's a stylistic dream for Floyd.
Yep. As much as pbf isn't an exceptionally tall welter, hes managed to avoid anyone much taller than him, save odh. Pbf cant avoid the right hanx as well against taller guys and as with any fighter facing a taller fighter, its touvher for him offensively. Give pbf a short guy like jmm and he looks like a dream. Thing is, pbf could beat taller fighters. He just wouldnt do so in a fashion that would lead to praise and overratedness that he currently gets.
Too me that's the biggest part. Mayweather thinks and reacts quicker than 99% of most fighters in boxing history. Cotto has to force him into uncomfortable positions. However with his patient and cerebral style Mayweather can easily beat him to the punch. It also doesn't help that Cotto has seemed to almost abandon his great left hook to the body. That would be a great weapon when Floyd has his back to the ropes using the shoulder roll to protect his head.
Agreed. Cotto has no chance in hell. I'll order it though, cause its gonna be a good fight. Cotto won't go out like a bitch like the way Ortiz did, but he will take a beating. Bradley wouldnt stand a chance in hell against the Pac of 3 years ago, but Pac's slipped since then, so Timmy is somewhat live.
Even todays Manny is way too good for Bradley,...who I'm high on,btw. Manny gets his 1st KO in a while here, imo
Cotto will win. Here is why. I have decoded this message. It reveals Cotto to have a brilliant resume.
