Oh boy I can already see it coming. Imagine what they'll be saying about Floyd's legacy is Manny beats Spence? I dont think that means anything about Floyd's legacy because styles make fights. If floyd came out of retirement and beat Spence himself thats a different story. Just tired of Floyd fans riding Canelo's and Pacquio's coat tails to make Floyd legacy seem greater then it is.
I have a helluva lot more respect for the guy fighting a top 5 P4Pder than the guy dragging our sport through the mud fighting a YouTuber.
Spence should be favored and for obvious reasons, but I can't help and think that Pac might still have a chance to pull this one off. Should be a great fight and Pac will earn respect, win or lose.
They actually sold tickets to this. Got one pre sale and it will be the 11th pacquaio fight I've attended. First 1 was his US debut 20 years ago from yesterday where he obliterated ledwaba Pacquiao has a record of 4-4-2 in the fights I've been to
Which summer matchup do you reckon will do better PPV numbers - Fury-Wilder III or Spence-Pac? I think Spence-Pac should have more buys.
agREED... Wilder-Fury II Did 900k Buys...No Way Does the 3rd Fight Drop to 500k...In the Coming Weeks it'll Be HEAVILY Promoted by ESPN and Wilder's Excuses Add Intrigue and/or a Desire to See Him Get His Ass Kicked, Again... Plus, Tyson Fury is the Ultimate Salesman... Pac-Spence Won't Do as Well, but it'll Do MORE Than 500k Also...Spence Has Done 325k-350k in Separate PPVs vs. LESSER Names Than Pacquiao, Who'll Be Returning to the Ring After 2 Years... REED Expects about 750k for Wilder-Fury III and Maybe 600k for Pac-Spence... REED
https://mobile.twitter.com/Idecboxing/status/1415108000340221952 Pac not fooling around with the rona after the Fury shenanigans
Spence was hurt pretty badly staggered in one of his early fights but his chin has looked solid over his last few fights at top level. He will probably try the Garcia tactics jabbing and moving but if he goes back to his old aggressive style I think he can destroy Pac here
I just watched Thurman vs Pacquiao again amazing for a man that age. but Thurman is average. Spence will brutally stop Manny
I doubt it. Spence is not really a ko artist. Wouldn't be surprised by a corner stoppage though. But this fight is really hard to predict since we have no clue how manny will look at this age and after this layoff
so i was off a bit. it did closer to 600k allegedly. still doubt pacquaio - spence wouldve cracked 500k ticket sales were crap though. there were tons of open seats on the lower level. they were giving away "upgrades" to those of us with nose bleed tickets. i ended up in some lower level seat that was goin for $1k but obviously terribly over priced.
I wonder when the next 1mil buy PPV is gonna be. If Benavidez wasn't such a waste, he could have been a mainstream star by now, then Canelo-Benavidez would have been a 1 mil PPV type of matchup. As it stands, Benavidez remains a nobody outside of hardcores. After Canelo beats Plant, I would imagine the next target must be Jermall Charlo. Canelo-Charlo will outsell what Fury-Wilder did.
ASSuming Tank and King Ry Whup Rolly and Diaz Impressively, They Could FLIRT w/1mil PPV Buys Spring 2022... If Moved PROPERLY, Boots Ennis vs. Vergil Ortiz MIGHT Generate 1mil PPV Buys by LATE 2023-EARLY 2024... Yeah, Charlo's There, But Don't Rule Out CATCHWEIGHT/REHYDRATION CLAUSE Mandates for Bivol and/or Beterbiev @ Light Heavy Either... REED
davis vs garcia has potential to be a big event. Im skeptical whether garcia will even beat diaz, let alone win impressively enough to make ppl believe he can compete with davis.
It will/would be hyped as two guys in their primes, future stars etc. It hasn't even happened or may never yet it already feels way too artificial.
Ryan would beat the ever living shit out of Rolly. Rolly isn't half as good as even Campbell, he's a bum who tank is gonna execute.
Luke Campbell is a career loser. A decent enough technical boxer, but pretty damn overrated IMO. While Rolly doesn't have much in the way of skill, the fact that he's young, big, and has power makes him more dangerous to Ryan than Campbell. I would not be surprised in the least bit if Rolly beat Ryan. Nor would I be surprised if Ryan lit him up, but I don't see it as a given. I would give Rolly a chance against Ryan and Haney. They both seem very fragile. I wouldn't give Rolly a chance against Lopez, Loma, and Tank.
