Nice analogy, except that Marquez wasn't considered a shot fighter, nor had he been retired for several years. It'd only been a year and a half since he last fought Pac, whereas it's been almost a decade since JLC and Floyd fought. Keep making excuses for Pac and looking for excuses to hate on Floyd, though. It's entertaining to watch.
Yeah, the scenario I presented is totally not sensible or believable, and the scenario you presented is totally not biased. Floyd has spent his career picking on smaller guys, so your scenario makes sense.
Referee Carlos Padilla Admits He Helped Pacquiao Win Fight in 2000; Opponent, Family of Ref Respond And then there's this guy. I'd seen this fight before pacquaio came here and it really skewed my opinion of him particularly against Ledwaba and barrera
Even worse is that it was posted on the WBC's youtube channel, and those crooks did not made anything out of it (at least, as far as I know). Could you imagine the scandal if a ref in a serious sport would admit something like this? There would be some major, major repercussions. In boxing, it's basically treated as an afterthought. To be honest though, I always felt the long count controversy was pretty much a reach. Seemed like a standard count from my perspective and Pac would have probably won even without the extra help. Doesn't change that it's completely outrageous though. It s beyond sad and unjust that Pasilla will be remembered as the man who reffed the thrilla in Manila instead of as the pos he really is.
