Roy Jones coasted. Ali coasted. Ali coasted and taunted guys and beat them up and coasted and call them names and coasted. Wlad coasts. Oscar coasted vs Tito. Did it validate the rip off? Did it fuck.

    You can't validate theft.

As fans, we pay to watch fights where guys don't get robbed because they coasted. Thats our first port of call.

Who in their right mind would sincerely suggest that open theft was a suitable remedy for the minor sin of coasting?

A 154lb champ called Ralph Dupas once fought a challenger who suffered from really bad cuts and Dupas only hit him to the body to avoid damaging the guys face once his cuts started to open. Thats coasting, and its sportsmanship too.

In my opinion, especially where a guy is badly maimed, he can be forgiven for coasting and letting his man get out with his faculties intact, instead of hurting the guy. Roy Jones showed sportsmanship with Reggie Johnson that Ray Mercer never showed with Tommy Morrison, yet people will say Mercer gave us what we wanted to see.
