I think he's very ineffective going backwards actually. The Peterson fight showed this. Khan is effective against slower guys who cannot counter punch or can't cut off the ring. Which is why against Kotelnik he looked good. Slower guy, who can't cut the ring off, and fights outside. Perfect for Khan. I think even now, Floyd would dominate Khan. He'd fight him the way he fought Judah. Apply constant forward pressure, attack the body with both hands, make it an inside fight. I don't think Khan would have any answers.
He's awful going backwards. He has no defense, no infighting, and moves back in a straight line. He is at his best moving forwards throwing his fast, rangey, button mashing flurries. It's his best form of defense, as it can shut some opponents down. Also, he's only half an inch taller than Floyd, with less reach.
Fair points, "fight going backwards" is a poor description for what Khan is capable of doing. He can't throw punches while moving backwards.. but he is capable of throwing a 1-2 and then getting on his bike, and he's also a fair bit faster than Floyd at this point.
That's not fighting going backwards, that's getting out of danger without making it appear like full retreat.
Will Khan ' s punch - hold - smother work against pbf? Biggest question in this fight is who is the ref? If it's Bayless, pbf wins easily.
Pbf isn't going to stop him. Only guy he stopped recently was from a punch on a break, and who knows wtf Ortiz was thinking when he didn't get up...maybe he thought he could win on disqualification. What will be hilarious is if pbf insists on mx gloves for himself...wouldn't put it past him except his hands are brittle as shit ...
Its 'like i said before' - Floyd would just press mid range with his hands up, wait for Khan to button mash and counter him to bolivian. There's never been an easier fight to pick in the history of boxing.
I would like to see Pac-Khan, but I'd actually rather see Brook-Khan and I think they will fight next year.
Khan/Brook will be boring as hell. Only good thing to come of that fight will be that one of those fckers will have lost.
Khan should definitely fight Brook, but he doesn't appear all that eager for that fight, from my perspective.
Khan does not...NOT see round 4. Actually I see Khan going down like Hatton....one punch nite nite...
I think Khan would probably beat him, in all honesty. Brook looked really average against scrubby little Porter, Porter just looked super scrubby. Brook didn't exactly look like a monster puncher either.
As chinny as Khan is, I'm not 100% sure that Brook takes him out, especially that early. Wouldn't be shocked if Khan button mashes/shoe shines his way to a win here.
Brook is the kind of chap I could see being gunshy in the face of Con's button mashing and he likes to hold as much as Con does... His performance against Porter was a disgrace
