At the end of the day, Pac is the one in the position to make demands, like it or not, he earned the right to do so. Pac isn't a natural welter, and he's not asking Cotto to even met him halfway, 2 pounds is not that big a deal. So what if it is a 147 belt, you should still put it on the line if you have confidence in your own ability. To be honest I myself am not really bothered about the belt, but Pac has given Cotto the opportunity to fight the pound for pound best when PBF froze Cotto out, least Cotto can do is put his belt on the line. I'm going to be so happy when Cotto gets put to sleep after all the pussy shit he's trying to pull.

Pac fought Delahoya @147 so why not Cotto? It's Pac who has limited options @140. Cotto has plenty @147. Besides Cotto making a nice payday he dosent need Pac. Why dont you mentioned all the pussy shit Pac is pulliing? After the contracts were signed they wanted Cotto to drop to 143!

Pac is a pussy for asking the MUCH BIGGER MAN to drop a measley 2 pounds? Come off it, and forget the 143 shit it will happen at 145. No chance in hell it will happen at 143. As I said before, there is no way people would be calling Pac a pussy for taking this fight 2 years ago, before the DLH and Hatton fights. In fact, would you be calling Cotto a pussy if he suddenly decided to fight Pavlik and requested that the fight happen at 158? No you wouldn't. The fact of the matter is, Pac is the biggest draw in boxing right now and has earned the right to call some of the shots. He has given up physical advantages in the majority of his recent fights and quite rightly would like to have things more on his terms for this fight.

Exactly. If anyone deserves some weight concessions, it's Pacman.

Pac called Cotto out not the other way around. Like I mentioned before if 2 pounds isnt a big deal then Pac needs to fight Cotto @147 and the belt will be on the line. Its that simple.

Cotto is the welterweight champion of the world. I dont care how big and popular Pac is now, if he wants a crack at the belt then he MUST accept the champions demand that the fight gets made @ 147.

Hex you don't understand. This isn't about Pac being big and popular (although obviously, that plays a role too). This is about Pacman spending half his career at flyweight, then moving up through half the divisions in boxing, fighting natural light welters and welters like Hatton and De La Hoya.

THAT'S why if anyone deserves some weight concessions, or catch weight stuff, it's Pacman.

I understand and he got his wish fighting Cotto @145. BUT if he wants it to be for the TITLE Cotto has already mentioned it must be @147.

So if Cotto gets sparked (which he will), you would still consider him to be the welterweight champion of the world? Despite getting knocked out by a much smaller man? Kinda devalues the title if he does that don't you think

If you guys are so sure Pac is going to knock Cotto out, why are you arguing at the same time that Pac should receive weight concession and that 2 pounds isn't a big deal?

Maybe if Pacquiao agrees to pay Cotto WBO sanctioning feeds then the title could be put on the line...

No one is going to consider Cotto a champion when he gets knocked out anyway so he might as well put it on the line.

The thing with the weight is, it's not just a matter of Pac wanting Cotto to be on "more even terms" for fight weight. The fact is that we know that Cotto killed himself to make 140, and even at 147 looks half dead at the time of the weigh in. Either way Cotto is coming to the ring the same size, he doesn't fluctuate the way some fighters do.. he's lean even at 147 and the only reason Pac wants the extra 2 pounds is to "starve" some of the strength from Cotto come fight time. He doesn't want to fight a full version of Cotto.

If it doesn't matter then Pacquiao shouldn't threaten to not fight Cotto if he doesn't weigh 145, it works both ways.

Don't be blinded by Pacmans recent wins! You guys are setting yourselves up for a major surprise. Pac is not going to knockout this huge welterweight thats going in fightnight 150+. There is always a chance for a dec win but a knockout is very unlikely.

I spoke with my uncle Saturday night and asked about his thoughts about the fight. Let me add that this man has been a student of the game for over 35+ years and has seen fights we maybe had a chance to see on espn classics. He said that if Cotto comes in using his powerful jab and is able to close in on Pacman with his body attack then you all might as well turn off the tv because Pac is getting FUCKED UP! He also agrees that Cotto should hire Stewart to help adjust a few flaws in Cotto's game. Now he also mentioned if Cotto abandons the JAB then Cotto is on for a very long night. That jab will be key to a Cotto victory!

I asked my great grandfather what his thoughts on the fight were. He said "what?", I asked him again, he said "What?? I can't hear what you are saying young man", then I asked him once again..."Who are you?" was his reply. Fucking alzheimers.

Anyway, you will see how much Cotto is going to get smashed up by Pacs speed, to be honest I don't see him landing much if at all. He can jab all he likes, he's getting hit by a fucking BLIZZARD that night, and by speed he will never have experienced before. He doesn't stand a chance, trust me, other than landing a lucky shot. I am going to laugh at you so much the next day and I am going to love it.

Again you guys are blinded by Pac's recent wins. Cotto has already fought speed. MOSLEY AND JUDAH. Go watch Pacmans fights with Marquez and his first fight with Morales. Speed can be offset by timing and the jab. I can't wait for this fight. You are putting Pac as invincible. Prepare to be shocked just like you all were when Mosley and Jones got fucked up.

Mosley and Judah are not as good nor as fast as Pac. Pac is a freak of nature whos speed has not really diminished as he has moved up, hence why fighters have struggled to cope with it the higher he has gone up. They are not used to it. Pointless bringing up Morales and Marquez they are both better than Cotto. They probably wouldn't beat him because I don't see them as carrying the weight as well as Pac but pound for pound they are better fighters. I don't know how he has managed to move up the weights without greatly reducing his speed in the process but somehow it has worked. You will see how much Cotto will struggle with it. Seriously. I am going to laugh at you.
