    NOT True...

Floyd STILL Needs to Fight Cotto B 4 Calling it Quits...NOBODY is Suggesting Otherwise...

All REED is Saying is that Paul Williams has NO CHANCE WHATSOEVER of Beating Floyd...

    No More, No Less...

    REED:rolleyes:

Floyd also beat Hatton, which means he has a retrospective virtual win at 140 over Tszyu.

I'd happen to aree with you, but then I also thought there was no way Quintana would get the result last night...its a shame is some ways because I thought prior to last night that williams had a good chance as emerging as an outstanding welterweight contender, whereas I already know that Quintana is a solid guy but no more

U're 100% CORRECT N your Assessment of Quintana...

He's SOLID, but a Truely ELITE Guy (Cotto) Decisively Beats him Virtually EVERY Time...Last Night was MORE about how OVERRATED Paul Williams was than How GOOD Quintana is...

Which is PRECISELY Why REED was Reluctant to Climb Aboard the Paul Williams Bandwagon After the Margarito Fight...

REED Gave Quintana a "30-40%" Chance of Beating Williams, so Last Night WASN'T Exactly a Surprise...On that Note, REED would Give Williams a 5-10% Chance of Beating Floyd, if that...

I dunno about a GREAT chin, but its good. Other than Cintron, theres really no murderous puncher at 147. Quintana has some pop, but nothing special. If Williams was getting caught like that by say a prime welter Tito, he wouldnt have seen round 3.

But anyway, Floyd wont stop him, but he'll win a WIDE UD against him.

Indeed. Reed introduced that particular technique,.. it's called '1 stone, several birds'..."Margarito and Baldomir are exactly the same" afterwards he must've thought that was a splendid idea, and elaborated a little more with, "Mosely has alot of similarities to Zab", and "Williams is a high and rangey southpaw, a bit like Hatton victim, Luis Collazo". Ensuring that, 1 win, can put quite alot of monkeys into one barrel. Fraud's revised resume?.. ALL.

    "Some of us"?

Who DIDN'T think Floyd would outclass Baldomir?

UNLIKE Williams, Baldomir had very little (if anything) stylistically to threaten Mayweather with.

Despite all the talk, we still don't actually know that Williams wouldn't be a problem for Mayweather because
    1) we don't know to what extent Quintana being a southpaw figured into Williams' loss,
    2) we don't yet know how Floyd would handle someone with Williams' style.

So U DON'T Remember half the Site BITCHING about Floyd vs Zab, Cause Floyd was "Ducking" the "Real Welterweight Champ", Carlos Baldomir???:dunno:  ...

Then AFTER Floyd Waxed Baldomir, Everybody BITCHED about how "Boring" it was...That's the Rub w/Floyd, Peeps ALWAYS Look for the Angle to BITCH about...

Quintana Being Southpaw had NO Bearing on him Beating Williams N REED's Opinion...His HANDSPEED, COUNTERPUNCHING & RING GENERALSHIP were Much BIGGER Factors...

Margarito ISN'T a Southpaw & SLOWER than U.S. Mail, yet he had NO Problems Hitting Williams, did he???:dunno: ...

Bottom Line, Floyd is the Guy ON TOP of the Proverbial Mountain...The Pressure is On those Lower Tier Guys to PROVE THEMSELVES, Instead of Waiting Around, LOSING Fights & Crying that Floyd is "Ducking" Them....

Floyd HAS to Fight Miguel Cotto B 4 he Retires...If Floyd Can TAKE Cotto's "0", he'll have NATHAN Else to Prove Really...

But if he DOESN'T Fight Cotto, REED'll B the 1st to Criticize Floyd about it...

I do... I just don't remember a single person actually picking Baldomir to BEAT Floyd if that fight ever came off.

Floyd HAD TO fight Baldomir if he was going to claim the lineal welterweight title. Regardless of how much people agreed that he "would've" beaten Baldomir, he still had to fight him in order to get that claim. That's the only way lineal titles can be "won".

A Floyd-Williams fight is different. Not only was Williams worthy of a big fight (like Baldomir), but he was a guy widely perceived as actually being a threat to him in the ring (UNLIKE Baldomir).

And if you personally don't believe Quintana being a southpaw was a deciding factor in the outcome, that's your opinion, but it's still yours and a questionable one. Until either 1) Williams gets outboxed by an orthadox fighter with Mayweather's style, or 2) Mayweather shines against an opponent with Williams' style, the question of whether Williams would've had a troublesome style for Floyd will still remain.

And no one here is "waiting" for Floyd to come to them, that's the whole issue here. Cotto and Mosley went out and fought each other, and Williams and Margarito went out and fought eachother... that's the total OPPOSITE of "waiting around". And the whole reason these guys are eventually losing is because they're NOT waiting around, they're actively pursuing meaningful fights. The fighters who ARE waiting around are the ones that Mayweather IS fighting, like DeLaHoya and especially Hatton. DeLaHoya disgraced himself in his last big event vs. Hopkins, and got a fight with Mayweather ONLY with his money-making potential and nothing more... and Hatton barely edged Collazo (an unheralded fighter that Mosley beat easily) in his only move up to welter and then RETREATED back down to 140, where he still was when Mayweather hand-picked him.

I thougjht williams won 5 of the first 7 rounds

Quintana may have looked good for the first 2 rounds but he didn't do shit over the next rounds. I haven't seen the whole fight, but williams was winning in my eyes.
