    It's about money.

Even if it were true that Floyd was offered 65 million that's all he'd get. He could knockout out Pacquiao with the peachiest punch you ever saw. guess what? No bonus. :tick::nono:

If he switches over to UFC he can get some of that sweet sweet KO of the night bonus cash.

im a wee bit skeptical to say the least. everyone in the know realizes that the legit money in southeast asia comes from laos.

that's what I'm thinking too. If you're as rich and famous as Bob Arum is, you just can't go on camera and lying about making an offer without having to face a potential lawsuit.

I'm sure it wasn'T 65 million guaranteed. I think it's more of a case where 65 million could have potentially be reached if the ppv sale were amazing ( probably irrealistic ). Still, it was in most probability the biggest purse ever offered to a boxer.

I can't believe anyone is questioning the truth in this. Mayweather made 22.5 million to fight Mosely BEFORE ppv upside. After PPV upside the number is somewhere around 40 million.

Why is it hard to believe that 65 million could be guaranteed to him for this fight given the enormity of the event?

It would be the best selling PPV ever. I am sure of that. The numbers that Mayweather and Pac do on their own is crazy. Put them together and you are looking at a ridiculous number of PPV buys.

    Lets see......

Mayweather and Pac split 50/50. 65mill + 65mill = 130mill. So a 130 mill gurantee before paying undercard fighters or any other costs.

    Undercard?

Shit, nobody pays for undercards for these big events anymore.

We'll probably get John "The Beast" Brown vs Joey Gamache Jr., fighting for a box of used shoelaces in the main supporting bout.

These guys don't fight for free. I guess you didn't see the payouts for the Pac-Mosley U/C. Was over a couple of mill if i remember correctly.

    Pavlik $270K, Lopez $40K, Vazquez $165K, Arce $125K, Alvarado $50K, Narh $22,500. Fair enough, it's under a mill.

This fight is already slightly past prime for both guys. The value has nowhere to go but down from here.

what is funny about it ???? Either I'm wrong ( wich I doubt, but will admit readily if so) or I'm not. If you know for sure, stop being a bitch about it and just out it.

People like you are the reason why all the bullshit promoters go out and feed bullshit to the public, because some actually buy it. Would you believe DLH if he came out tomorrow and said he offered Manny $70 million but that Pac replied "Only if no testing Sir!"? Bullshitters bullshit, it's up to you to decide if it makes any sense and if it sounds real that someone can offer a $65 million guarantee.

Could he really be so neurotic as to turn that kind of money down!?

The answer is, I have absolutely no true idea. I do think he is scared very vividly, though. Perhaps partly by Pacquiao, but moreso by any true threat to that, '0,' (which he correctly regards Pacquiao as representing).

Maybe he did turn it down, who knows. I don't doubt he'd turn down a lot of money to avoid this fight.
