    Yes, I agree with that.

Did you notice that Jhonny came in at 116? Do you think he might have been over trained too? That popped into my head too.

Around the second round, I was PLEADING with my TV for Penalosa to go to the body. He was missing the head by miles.

You disagree and you are wrong, Mabel.
The only reason I can see what you are typing is because I can't put you on ignore.
    You know my real name.
Mexico got wiped out, bottom line and it wasn't even close.

He was closer to 117 but I will never understand that. if a guy is killing himself to make weight, why shed anymore weight than you have to? :dunno: those last few pounds are not easy.

Hey Ponce was favored by the bookies. It wasn't an upset.

Penalosa destroyed Jhonny, that was a major upset.

I wouldn't go that far. Penalosa-Gonzalez was certainly a signifigant fight. The 4 off TV fights were not to signifigant though. Like I said earlier in this thread, those were all set ups for the Phillipines except 1. Not sure why ODLH set the mexicans up to lose

You are right stacy. Mexico did get wiped out. But as i saw it, the mexicans left the arenas like the winners based on that last fight. The last fight that all of them were there to see. The last fight that all the pinos wanted to win more than any other fight. Thats all im saying. Now go eat a sandwich or something.

Not really true, the Fillipinos like Penalosa a lot as well. Acting like Gonzalez-Penalosa was not a signifigant fight on this card is stupid and wrong.

Yeah but your homies weren't laughing like in that smilie of yours, they had a destroyed look on their collective faces in the end, and ultimately that's where it counts the most.

Oh, a MOD straying away from Boxing Discussion?
The Olympic Trials are going to be in two weeks in Houston.
I would love to see you come down and cover them for fightbeat and we could finally meet in person and discuss several boxing issues.
REED may come down, how about you?
I have great respect for Mexican boxers and they are winners and some of my personal boxing Idols, and the P.I. produced the greatest jr. lightweight ever, Gabriel "Flash" Elorde, so both sides should feel like winners to some degree.
I think Gonzales was the most formidable fighter before tonight on the card on HBO, but I have no real quarrel with your selection, though.
Again; you stick to talking boxing and boxing only in this forum with me.
    Karl

Exactly. Penalosa is more of a legend in the P.I than Bautista. When he was a flyweight, he was basically the premier pinoy pundit until guys like Pacquiao, and Gorres started coming along.

  Relax stacy. Dont get those panties in a bunch. I dont give a shit what you think about the Mexicans. I could care less about them myself. The boxers are okay i guess  kimba is okay too...Maybe.

I believe you still have some unfinished business in spain. Once you take care of that little problem, then we will see where you and i can go to discuss some things. :bears: Now get back to the subject of this thread ma'am.

I agree with this statement. Jhonny was the most skilled champion on the card and he was the most heavily favored of the two main matchups. Penalosa was NOT supposed to win this fight.

You are right. And if it went the disance, he wouldnt have. He is lucky that shot landed. :bears: Go GERRY. I never liked Jhonny anyways. Cant even spell his name right.

Yeah, you are right, the Penalosa-Gonzalez was significant.

The true score is Mexico 1, Philipines 1, the other fights don't mean a flying fuck because they are all nobodies who'll go nowhere, it was basically journeyman vs journeyman.

Well, like I said I have no idea why ODLH set up the Mexicans to lose. Some of the Filipinos on the undercard are good fighters, but they were not fighting good mexicans. They fought tomato cans. 1-1 in signifigant fights I agree though with that.

BTW, anyone who says the Ponce de Leon fight was stopped too soon should seriously stop watch boxing altogether because they don't know jack shit about the sport.
