wtf you calling me a groupie for disagreeing with you? Considering I have had no issue with you up to this point.....and when did I get "pissy" at you?

    whatever

Ortiz is past it and was a titleist at 108 yet was fighting at 115 for I think was the 2nd time in his career. Gorres is fighting at his natural weight and just came off a close loss to Montiel many thought he won.

Roman was and is ass. You act like beating Soto is some great feat but from the looks of it everyone beats him....cept for Izquiedro who is an even crappier prospect than Roman.

Oscar is happy the Phillipines won, now Mexico can go out and get revenge. That´s so great about this format, you can fix it easily, and slap together a show with undercarders.

REED, you responded to Earner, but you name dropped me. Again, stop following me around and we won't have any problem.

Like I said, when did REEDtard ever support fighters from either team? :dunno:

I just take exception to calling Roman ass when it was obvious he was being propped up to win against Domingo.

Do you accept that Domingo beating Roman was an upset? :dunno:

 REED all of your favorite fighters are black. I don't think there's anything wrong with it, but you have some "pot/kettle syndrome" going on there. Also I'm a big Tito fan, and when he spanks the shit out of Roy, I'll be the first one to shit all over REED.

Also what's wrong with being slightly feminine? I think REEDtard is just scared of embracing his feminine side. You care too much about what people think about you, be more carefree REED.

NO Poster has Rooted HARDER for Prince Naseem Hamed than REED has...To this Day,REED STILL Defends that Cat...

Back when Barrera was Gonna Face an "Undersized" Cat Named Manny Pac,REED was the 1 who BOLDLY Predicted Pac to BEAT Him...REED Absolutely ADORES Manny Pac to this Very Day...

Boom Boom Mancini,Andrew Golota,Wlad Klit,Alexis Arguello,Kelly Pavlik,Wilfredo Gomez,REED could Go on for DAYS Listing NON BLACK Fighters that were FAVORITES of his @ 1 Time or Another...

No there ISN'T Anything Wrong w/Having Racial/Nationalistic Pride but YOU Made the MISTAKE of Being ARROGANT about the Shit...Hence the TITLE of this Thread AND your RIDICULOUS Infatuation w/the World Cup,AFTER Ponce GANGRAPED Bautista...

It's FINE to B PROUD when 1 of "Your Own" Succeeds, but when U RUB It N the Faces of Others (as U CLEARLY Did N This Very Thread),Don't Get PISSY when Motherfuckers Throw Darts BACK @ your Ass...

I was rooting for the sweep, it's a shame that it didn't happen, but I was equally happy that as a team the P.I pulled a 5-1 victory over Team Mexico who just beat Thailand last year. It shows how far Pinoy boxing has come in the past 10 years.

Also, I had a pretty good time celebrating Penalosa's UPSET KO over Jhonny Gonzalez. Penalosa is a legend in the P.I, for ONE NIGHT, the most popular boxer in the P.I wasn't Manny Pacquiao.

the only relevant fights were Ponce/Bautista and Gonzalez/peñalosa.

as far as I'm concerned they are 1-1 fuck the rest of nobodies who fought on the undercard.

Bautista was suposed to be the next pacquiao and got the blenders put on his ass quick.

props to Gery for pulling of the upset.

But your boy Bautizta couldn't make out of the first round.

It's spelled "Gerry" man. Just because you don't know who he is, LOTS of phil-ams love Penalosa as much as Paquiao. He's like the Julio Caesar Chavez of the P.I. His win was SPECTACULAR and DRAMATIC.

Bautista got caught cold. It's how he comes back really that will determine how he will become as a fighter.

Anyway, I agree, congrats to the Pinoy boxers, World Cup Champions.

I'm not saying he is a nobody but there is a reason it was an upset because he was supposed to lose to Gonzales.

by the way every pinoy I talk to talks about Pacquiao, Navarrete, Flash Elorde as greats.

they mention Peñalosa as in the same category as Luisito Espinoza.

You don't laugh at someone because they are 'in the same category as Luisito Espinoza'. Besides some terrific wins, Espinoza headlined the most-attended boxing show ever, afaik. However anyone tries to dismiss that, it still is an incredible feat.

You really don't know much about Pinoy boxing.

You act like Espinoza was a bum, he's a legend himself. I don't know if you're purposely acting stupid or if you have some hate of pinoy boxers, but Espinoza is one of the great pinoy champs in P.I boxing history.

I don't see why so many are getting pissed at Alabama Man. When I looked at the fights and rethought it, I think MAB-Pac was expected to be the tie breaker to add more to it. On the Mexican side Roman,Ponce and Gonzalez were all favs. Banal,Gorres and Gabi were all supposed to win. The Phillipines ended up winning 5 of them though, no reason not to have pride. Lord knows the Latinos show it at every chance. Oh and the Penalosa win adds a good bit to his legacy. Guys his age do not usually win titles at that weight. His losses were pretty much all very close.

Well I posted basically the same stuff at Boxrec and most of the Mexican guys over there like "teikken" were really cool about it. It just seemed more friendly. I think a lot of the people here take things personally or just want to shit on someone. It's kind of confusing, to me it's just boxing. If Mexico had won I'd be giving them the thumbs up. :dunno:

I thought he bothered Gonzalez to the body more than once. Gonzalez was winning for sure but I can't call it a lucky punch.

Alabama Man, I couldn't give a fuck less about Mexico or the Phillipines, I'm talking to YOU about your hype of Rey"Garbageman" Bautista over the past year. You go around dogging guys like Hatton who have won several belts and the guy you told us to brace ourselves for just shit down both legs and got KO'd in less than a round in front of the whole fuckin world.

If you weren't so busy PRETENDING to care about this fake, phony ass world cup of boxing you'd see how hilarious this was. Now anytime you do your usual move of going into threads talking about this fighter being a bum and that fighter, EVERYBODY HERE will remember that the guy you told us all to watch out for was lying under the ropes, counting lights two mintes into his first big fight.

    :bears:  :bears:

by who? who was propping him up?

Golden Boy the company that promotes him. Why wouldn't they prop him up. Main Events hypes Litzua, Douchebella hyped up the Chin Checkers, etc. That's their job. Where it counts is when people in the media, trainers, boxers, etc tell us this kid is someone to watch for. Roman wasn't, isn't , and IMO never will be. To me, you are hyping this kid up far beyond anything he really is to make the win for Dominguez seem all that signifigant.

How many times have you seen Roman fight to make the statement that he and Bautista were on the same level? At least I admit, I haven't seen Domingo fight so to be honest without knowing how he fights and based on his record yes it could be considered an upset. But no more than when a Fernando Trejo beats a JA Santa Cruz or a Rubio beats a Bojado. Prospects get beat especially when they come accross a veteran who isn't going to lay down for the prospect

Cardenas suffered an ankle fracture when he fell. Ponce looked good. I had hoped the fight would last longer though. I was surprised at the dominance all night by the Filipinos. The turnout at Arco wasn't all that great...lots of empty seats, but the crowd that was there was lively. Ponce winning that last one may have prevented a couple of fights in the audience. Before that fight, with the Filipinos dominating, there were some angry Mexican fans ready to start a fight.
