In my opinion what I train and what guys even back in the days of Gotch trained is/was Jeet Kune Do. Taking what fit your body type and your style and throwing out what didnt is what everybody should do.

I've fought in boxing, and done exhibitions in Muay Thai, Jiu-Jitsu, and MMA...but in a real fight I'm not bringing any of those techniques. I'm going with a kick to the groin.

One thing I largely disagree with Bruce about was his philosophy on using fencing footwork in fighting. That kind of stance will get you taken down even faster than a boxing stance will.

"Unique in its teachings, Stroud’s offers not only one art but four: Karate, Jiu-Jitsu, Judo and Kobudo. Stroud’s is not only a place where you can find self-discipline and self-defense but it is also a place where you can find friends and family."

But he trains jiu-jitsu as well??

Just face it dude, you don't train anywhere.

Yes but Bruce was still developing his art up to his death. He learned alot about kicking under Chuck Norris, and he learned alot about wrestling under Gene LeBell. How recent was it that MMA fighters like Matt Hughes and Mirko CroCop finally learned that they needed to brush up on certain areas in order to have their best chance in being successful in MMA? Even today, things are changing and evolving as we see them in MMA. Matt Hughes only learned 2 years ago the importance of a jab and ever since he started incorporating boxing fundamentals with his wrestling, he's become a more effective fighter. CroCop learned the art of takedown defense and it did him wonders.
Bruce Lee was far ahead of his time and was still evolving his beliefs and concepts. His fencing stance was probably an early conception because I'm sure once he started learning wrestling under LeBell, he changed his perception quickly. But life is all about learning.

I'm 29 when did I say I started?? That's right TEN you moron and no Doc didn't teach BJJ when I was ten and I haven't trained at his school since I was 16. you asked where HAVE I trained before.

I train and workout in MY gym now after 20 odd years of it you don't need teachers anymore.

Definitely, Judo Gene taught Bruce alot. I know Bruce had amateur boxing fights as well as a white belt in BJJ (which indicates he did train). It's all about taking what works and applying it whether it be boxing, wrestling, jiu-jitsu, kung-fu, etc.

Cool story: When Chuck Norris first starting training under the Machado brothers in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu he wore a white belt like everybody else to class and did all the warm-ups like everybody else...no ego whatsoever. I believe he is either a brown belt, or got a courtesy black belt because I know he doesnt compete.

When? When I broke you skull open with a lead pipe? You aren't Godfather, Hanzy. He used to tame Spanish Harlem with backhands. You, lol, the day you meet me Hanzy is the day you realize that your time on this earth is about to expire. If you slapped me, I WOULD literally cut off your hand and insert it inside of your rectum.

Egos get torn down quickly in the world of fighting. Great fighters cannot be hotshots.:nono: You saw that big idiot former UFC champ Tim Sylvia walking around with his belt everywhere talking about being the best in the world and acting like his sh*t didn't stink. He gets absolutely mauled by Couture, the sorry saggy punk hasn't shown his face since.

dont you have a prom queen to go fuck??

so you trained when u were a young teenager getting bullied and therefore you know jujitsu? id like to see one belt or rank from you that isnt from TKD cuz if not im definitely calling bullshit...i have seen too many guys in boxing or jiu-jitsu class who are "blackbelts" in other disciplines who have no game.

and where is your gym located?? who trains there??

so you stopped when u were 16, and you had 20 years of experience??

its possible you are the toughest person to ever grace this message board...besides steve_dave of course.

I hope you learned the spinning backfist from the UFC marathon a few weeks back on Spike. That might save you from the dreaded Indian Slap!!!! I'm usually a sucker for the spinning backfist because the backfist can often counter an Indian Slap if the Indian Slap misses its target.

I hope you have some thick suglasses, son. I have a Supersoaker 153.5allwetter and I am loading the acid into it. You try that Street Fighter II Yoga Tiger bullshit and a stream of acid will flow into your eyes from 25 YARDS!! After you hit the ground sobbing, I am going to remove your scrotum, dry it in the sun and have myself a new wallet. Bring that shit.
