I don't think any club which has won the league prior to 1995 can really be called a "small club"

    Question.

How can you tell who's a chelsea fan?

    Answer.

This is no joke. Beckham could very well be a QPR player by January.

Wouldn't want him, we don't need him. He wouldn't come here anyway

Beckham should come to Celtic. Good way to end out your career I think, he'd do extremely well up here.

Celtic would be more appropriate definitely. He wouldn't add anything to our midfield, to be honest he would detract from it

I havent seen him play for ages tbf, I dont know what standard he's at. Ifhe can still playa bit he'd be a good addition to the squad and the circus surrounding him, magnified by the perpetual circus-in-a-goldfish-bowl up here would be ALLOT of fun.

I imagine he's still very good and can do a job for you. I'd love to see him at Celtic. He wouldn't really suit our style of play to be honest and would upset the Taarabt-Wright Phillips connection

    Faurlin, SWP, Barton, Taarabt, Derry.

    Love it. Don't need Beckham.

Slice, which striker would you want us to buy? Owen has been linked with us apparently.

Anything that gets Scott Brown out the Celtic team is a boon. Though the way Jamie Forrest is developing that should taken care of in-house.

    1-0 down after 2m.

We look good with the ball, threatening, but you can't compete in European football with Glen Loovens in defence and perpetually disorganised zonal marking.

I wish I didn't have to watch this shit.

Tellin' you, we're moving in the right direction. We can play FOOTBALL with the likes of Athletico, keep the ball, pass in triangles, look to threaten. Even at our best with Larsson and co we didn't have that ability to match teams like this at their own game away from home.

But you're only as strong as your weakest link and we are still carrying complete passengers like Loovens and Samaras and still playing guys like Mulgrew out of position because we don't have the squad depth then we just aren't gonna cut it.

I don't rule out a draw in the 2nd half but my take home feeling from this game already is one of total fucking frustration with the board that it didn't back Lennon AT ALL during summer. Such incredible progress in the year since he's been here and it's own show again tonight - he deserved more than 900k or whatever our net spend was this summer and if he'd gotten it we'd be going to Madrid with a real shout of winning (and more importantly there wouldn't be the slightest doubt about us winning the league).

Celtic have had the ball continuously for 20 minutes. We're better than this lot. Flat out better.

.....or would be without rucksacking the likes of Glen Loovens at the back. Arrested development.

    Not all negative, tonight.

Athletico had barely touched the ball for the 20m before the 2nd. We have the kernel of a team that can compete at that level well, but to beat the dead horse.....Lennon wasn't backed this summer again and it means that with a couple injuries like we have we're carrying absolute dead weight and it's cost us tonight.

But for a 2-0 defeat, tonight wasn't at all discouraging. Unless they massively improve we'll beat them at home.

The Europa cup (such a shit name, why they changed it from the UEFA cup, I do not know), should be a knock-out cup tbh.

Dunno, I think the tournament needed revamping and the early signs for this format seem kinda promising. The tournament already feels like less of a diddy cup than a few years ago.

Kiev, Sporting Lisbon, Athletico, Paris SG, Besiktas, Lazio, Eindhoven, Celtic, Kazan, Spurs.....when you put all those teams in groups and guarantee that a few of them play each other you create allot more glamour fixtures and those are the ones people kinda remember and identify the tournament with, if you get me.

    0-1 Arsenal, Gervinho.

I said at the start of the season that he would get arsenal goals. He took this one very well. Can he continue and prove me right.

1-2 Arsenal. Yakubu levelled for blackburn. Nice finish. Great finish from arteta tho.

Has more goals in this for sure.

2-2. Song own goal, but nothing he could do bout it.

3-2 Blackburn. Yakubu's second, but was slightly offside.

4-2. Another own goal. This time from Koscielny. Blackburn look ok today. They could very well survive this season if they keep this up.

    4-3. Chamakh.

Oh dear, Mertersacker. Should be 4-4. Stoppage time. Full-Time. 4-3.
