Several foreign-owned Premier League clubs want to scrap relegation, according to League Managers Association chief Richard Bevan.

If more clubs are sold to foreigner investors, they may have enough votes to force through the change.

But Bevan hopes that a government-led inquiry can help prevent the proposal.

"We're very keen that the report is successful in helping the Football Association introduce a licensing programme for clubs," he said.

"Because there are a number of overseas-owned clubs already talking about bringing about the avoidance of promotion and relegation in the Premier League.

"If we have four or five more new owners, that could happen."

Precisely. Yet their ambition is to not get relegated. When everything you do is geared toward not getting relegated, you can never ever move towards winning the title.

You watch Stoke now....they will back off and be back to the "not getting relegated" bit in a while.

If you don't have to worry about getting relegated, you can play your kids, develop your youth and not worry about having them pinched for fuck all once you get relegated.

The bottom line is that there is too much money to be made out of the play-off final and too much political mileage to be had out of whining about yanks for anyone to seriously examine the question.

Right now, the process of relegation-promotion is great for excitement but it realistically does fuck all for ambition or development.

Relegation would indeed hurt us the most, as we have been financially well backed and have proven to be resolute in the transfer market. I personally believe, that if an offer came in for Taarabt in the next transfer window, then we should sell him. I love the guy but I believe his intentions lie elsewhere. Just my opinion. Many may agree, many may disagree. Barton came out saying that he is yet to see the true ability of Taarabt and wants him to stop being a whining git and grow up. I hope that Taarabt scores soon and that we do indeed see his absolute best. He has been playing well, altho against Blackburn he was not quite up to it, but there is still much more in Taarabt that we have yet not seen.

 

I really can't wait for chelshit to come to the mighty Loft. It's going to be a cracking atmosphere and our boys will be up for it big time.

P.S, Liverpool should have beaten United. Decent game from the highlights I saw. Gerrard doing what he does best and scoring when it matters in big games. I hope he can continue to be injury free, because he'll get goals and assists and really benefit that midfield as always.

My idea on relegation, promotion: promote for TWO years and relegate likewise.

That way you have a two year plan and not some mad fucking dash.

In the meantime, the relegated club also have two years to stabilize and come again.

Flying to London tomorrow. I'll be in England for 10 days and one day in Wales.

I hopefully willl see:

Fulham v Everton this Sunday.

Everton-Chelsea next Wednesday.

And Everton-Man U the following Sunday.

I say hopefully because I don't have tickets to any of these. I didn't even bother trying to order from overseas again. But I'm pretty sure I'll get in one way or another even if I have to sit with the opposing fans like last year.
